Be here! Our attendance challenge for November runs from the 4th - 22nd. If your students' class averages 90% attendance for the week, a small prize will be delivered to their class Friday afternoons. On the 28th, top 3 classes win a 30 minute dance party on December 2nd!

We are hosting an hour event to help guide you through the process of registering your account and accessing important school information, like setting up a time for conferences. Parent Square is the school’s main method of communication, so we’d love to help you access this important tool.

More pumpkin patch at Powell Valley! Mrs Phillips K/1 class had fifth grade buddies with them for pumpkin fun, followed by a spider party in the afternoon!

The pumpkin patch came to Powell Valley’s kindergarten and K/1 classes today! Here is a view of Mrs Cail’s class enjoying the patch and a pumpkin party! Thanks to the fifth grade helpers who helped out this class of kindergarteners.

Powell Valley 3rd graders participate in the STEP (salmon trout enhancement program) through Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife. We have been raising salmon eggs at PV for the last 15 years! Today we received approximately 200 Spring Chinook salmon eggs from the Clackamas Fish Hatchery. We are in charge of keeping data as the eggs develop into young fry, and will release them into the Sandy River this winter.

I’ve been in the Gresham-Barlow School district for 30 years! I started out at Hollydale Elementary, went to Deep Creek Damascus and spent the last 20 years as night lead custodian at Gresham High.

In my spare time I love taking care of my plants! I also love listening to true crime podcasts and hanging out with my kitties Ciri and Dixie.

Welcome new 4th grade teacher Randall Szabo!

I’m thrilled to join the full-time faculty at Powell Valley! My time as a substitute teacher here was the highlight of my teaching experience. Before this, I worked as a lawyer, and the transition to education has been incredibly rewarding.
In my free time, I enjoy hiking in the forest, spending time with my cats, and playing board games with friends. I’m excited for the year ahead!
