At the Gresham Barlow School District, safety is our top priority. We conduct regular fire, earthquake, and other safety drills throughout the year to ensure our students are well-prepared for emergencies.

Our 5th graders went on the Willamette JetBoats as their end-of-year celebration field trip. They had a blast! We hope all of our 5th graders have a great summer and we wish them well for middle school. We will miss you!

Our North Stars had so much fun during this last week of school!

Dear North Families,

Today was the last day of school and we are now on summer break! Thank you for partnering with us this year. We look forward to seeing our North Stars return in the fall! Next year's calendars are attached. We also congratulate our 5th graders and wish them well in middle school!

Here are some upcoming dates, FAQ's, and important information:

When does school start again?
School begins on Tuesday, September 3rd for all 1st-5th graders. Incoming kindergarten students have gradual entry during the first week (more information to come late August), and their first full day will be Monday, September 9th. You can find the 24/25 school calendars online at our district website.

Is the school office open during the summer?
No, we are closed. If your student is going to participate in summer programming, please contact that program directly with any questions. The school office will reopen on August 21st.

Will there be an Open House or Back-to-School Night?
Yes! We will send out a "welcome back" ParentSquare message in late August with back-to-school information and our Open House date.

Do I have to register my student for next year?
If your student attended North this year and is an incoming 1st-5th grader for the 24/25 school year, you do not need to register them, they are already enrolled. If they're an incoming kindergarten student or are new to North Gresham, they will need to be registered. If your student is going to middle school, you will need to contact their middle school to enroll them. All registrations are done online here: https://www.gresham.k12.or.us/families/online-registration

Do I have to buy school supplies for next year?
No, we have special funding to purchase school supplies for all students during the 24/25 school year. We do ask that you provide your student with a backpack (please label it with your student's first and last name) and a refillable water bottle (optional). If you'd like to donate snacks or supplies to your child's classroom, you can reach out to their teacher when school begins to make arrangements.

Will there be free breakfast/lunch next school year?
Yes, as a federally funded Title I school, we will have free breakfast and lunch for all North Gresham students for the 24/25 school year, no application necessary.

When will bus route information be published?
First Student typically publishes bus routes in late August. You can lookup your student's bus route information by logging in to your ParentVue account to see your student's bus route. If you have any questions, please call First Student at 503-665-8193. We will also have bus route information at our Open House. Since bus routes aren't completed until late August, we recommend waiting until then to check online or call the bus company. Many routes and bus numbers remain the same, but they can change, so make sure to double check your student's bus route information before the first day of school.
