As we prepare for the new school year at St. Cletus Catholic School, beginning the first full week of August, so register now, all Catholic children who aren’t attending a Catholic school need to register with their Parish School of Religion.
St. Cletus Catholic Church offers CCD classes for Kindergarten through 8th grade on Sundays, beginning August 25th, at 10 AM, between the 9 and 11 AM Masses.
For 9-12th grades we partner with several other Catholic Churches in the Westbank High School of Catholic Religion, which meets at St. Martha Catholic Church on select Saturdays.
All 11th graders (and 12th graders who aren’t confirmed) are invited to register for the Sacrament of Confirmation.
Registration for all of these will be Sunday, August 4 and 11, 9:30 AM - 12:15 PM in Jerome Hall.

A message from the Bolognas who are currently visiting the Children's Home in Uganda:
Cookie & Francis arrived the morning of the 10th of July having flown since the 8th.
They arrived at St Cletus Children's Home to the rousing greeting of some 3 to 400, who came to celebrate this special occasion on the 10th.
Today we celebrate several major events:
1. We are celebrating 25 years or so ago this Children's Home was founded by Michael & Juliet Masembe. It started very small but grew through the support of many.
2. We are celebrating 20 years or so ago, Momma Cookie and Papa Francis adopted us and have sponsored many of the children.
3. We are celebrating the Great gift of St Cletus Parish in New Orleans, who adopted us in 2015, for their 50th Anniversary, and changed our world forever through their incredible generosity.
4. We are celebrating the 11th graduating class from the St Cletus Tailoring University. Founded by the Deans of the University, Francis and Cookie, who championed the need for a Vo-Tech school for girls. They saw that girls were graduating from HS, not getting jobs, and ending up on the streets.
5. And finally, we are celebrating a very special day, July 10th, 53 years ago, Momma Cookie and Papa Francis said, I do!
The books I mentioned at Mass this weekend, about who Jesus really is according to the Bible, tradition, and history, are below. We don't want to have a case of mistaken identity with Jesus; it could have major and eternal consequences.

Counterfeit Christs: Finding the Real Jesus Among the Impostors In Counterfeit Christs, Trent looks at eighteen phony versions of Jesus that we encounter today. Some are the creation of non-Christians: like skeptics who dismiss Jesus as a fictional composite of ancient myths, secular humanists who think he was just a Nice Man, or adherents of other religions who...

I found this ciborium in the back of the cabinet in Church a while back, but the cross on the cross on the lid broke off at some point and it needed some help. After filing down the sharp tab on top, cleaning, polishing, and lacquering, it’s ready to go back into service.
According to the engraving on the bottom, it was donated by Anthony M. Mauro, Sr, who was a parishioner of St. Cletus. If you know anything about him, please put it in the comments below.
National Eucharistic Revival:
In order to highlight the place of the Mass and the Most Holy Eucharist in the Catholic faith, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops have been working on a three-year process of Eucharistic Revival for the Catholic Church in the United States. The goal of the Revival is to allow the Holy Spirit to stir up in our hearts a greater love for the real presence of the Lord in the Eucharist and a desire to share that love with the world. The third year of this revival, when the Revival comes to our local parishes, begins on the Feast of Corpus Christi (the Body and Blood of Christ), on June 2, 2024.
For more information on how St. Cletus Catholic Church will be participating in the Eucharistic Revival, visit our special website for the Revival:

Bryan is asking anyone who has palm plants to bring their palms to Church this week, by Saturday morning, and leave them under the port-o-cacher on the Claire Ave side of Church. It’s appreciated, but not necessary, that they be cleaned. Anyone who can help clean and trim the palms should gather at Church on Saturday, March 23, at 9 AM.
