Honey Ridge Agricenter

Attention Young Farmer members and other interested parties please make plans to join us for the May Effingham County Young Farmers meeting on Thursday, May 23rd at 6:30 PM at Honey Ridge Agricenter! We will have Mr. Freddy Long joining us to present on the history of Honey Ridge and agriculture within Effingham County. We will also be conducting the business of the association and a wonderful meal will be provided! Please call or text Ben Richardson, Young Farmer Advisor, at 912-429-6974 if you would like to attend so we can plan the meal accordingly! RSVP by Monday, May 20th is encouraged! Please note that this is one of the last business meetings until August so please come if you are able to help us conduct the business of the organization!

Get ready, y'all! Georgia blueberry season is near! From late May to mid-July, these delicious and nutritious treats are harvested in the southern part of the state. Packed with vitamin C, iron, and fiber, they're also cholesterol-free and sodium-free. Fun fact: Georgia ranks 3rd in the nation for blueberry production!

What a beautiful, very warm day at Honey Ridge Agricenter for a Spring Fling! A huge shout out of “Thanks” to all of our students and teachers that gave up their time to set up, prepare and work the spring fling for our community! Despite the date change and all other events happening, we had a good turn out and LOTS of eggs hid and found!! We had delicious concessions from burgers, hot dogs and everyone’s favorite Mexican street corn, to Flavored Lemonade, Snow Cones, Texas Roadhouse Peanuts, Cotton Candy, Cookues and a Candy Bar! Other activities included a craft station, face painting, temporary tattoos, necklace and jewelry making, Photos with our “favorite character”, wagon rides, animals to pet, and a new tradition- an Egg Toss game!

Come out to honey Ridge Agricenter this Saturday for our SPRING FLING - it’s our rain date redo! 10AM to 1 PM.

We’ll still be doing the Easter things- egg hunting at 11 AM, at 11:45, cute pics with a bunny, an egg toss competition, lots of concessions, cute t-shirts for sale, games and crafts!
