Joy. Joy is defined as a feeling of great pleasure and happiness. I think sometimes we feel like joy always needs to be a BIG moment. Weddings. Births. We are looking for big, monumental moments. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

These mason jar salads bring me joy. Every time I open my fridge, I see how pretty they look and know that I took time to set myself up for success!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Could I make them in any old Tupperware? Yes, but it wouldn't bring me joy?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Can you focus this week on the small things that bring you joy and make them non-negotiable? Reading a fiction book in bed. Going for a walk and listening to a podcast. Having a handful of chocolate chips. Sitting on the couch watching This Is Us under weighted blanket. And yes, I'm really far behind as the season is already over!
So what brings you joy? Not the big things. The small things. And remember, it doesn't matter if it might feel silly to someone else. It only matters that it brings you joy!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Do you pay attention to your breath? Have you ever noticed that Pilates brings you a sense of calm?
How does it do that? I've got a couple ideas:
1️⃣ Use focused concentrated breathing that makes it all the way down to your diaphragm. Anxious breathing lives in the upper part of the chest. Next time you are feeling anxious try to breath into your rib cage.
2️⃣ How often do you have to listen to someone's voice without visual input? It takes a special form of concentration that requires you to quiet all the other voices in your head.
3️⃣ The fastest and most effective way to reduce anxiety and feel calmer is to move your body. Obviously, we find that in Pilates.
I challenge you to pause AT LEAST once a day and focus on your breath.Inhale through you nose. 1,2,3,4,5. Exhale through your mouth 1,2,3,4,5. Silently! That is your Pilates breath.

Our family is reuniting after Owen has spent 5 weeks at a ballet intensive and Liam spent 2 weeks at camp. Declan and I spent ten long days bouncing between two dance nationals. Not sure who's crazy idea that was! Ha!

"After a recent injury to my left foot, I was left in agony on my right hip and knee from uneven walking. Coincidentally, I had booked another ion foot cleanse as I had bought a package during the holidays. Pilates. Above all else, I believe movement heals. My favorite part of being a Pilates teacher is watching someone learn to trust their body again. Strong is the new skinny! ⠀⠀⠀⠀

Nutrition. I have a BS in nutrition and an MS in education. And because it's my belief that we are never done learning and growing, I am became a certified holistic health coach from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition.

I had 3 babies in less than 3 years. 🤪 My oldest are twins, in case you are trying to do those calculations. 😂 After a crazy infertility journey, twin pregnancy, surprise third baby, I lost myself. It took me a long time to recognize that 'you can't fill from an empty cup' and 'I am worth it'. But I did and now I am hoping to convince you! 😍 Most of all, I hope you know that you are WORTH IT! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
