If you see this rubber duck at your house, ask where it come from. Sooooo…someone decided last night to take something that doesn’t belong to them. The police organized a duck hunt in the village, participating businesses hid a duck in the front window for families to find and write down where it was. We hid our duck high up and in a space that would be hard to get it out of, apparently someone thought they deserved to take it. Now families can’t have the fun and adventure of finding it. What ever happened to, if it’s not yours don’t take it.

Thank you to the Village of Hamburg Police Dept. for once again organizing the Lucky Duck Scavenger Hunt. This Sunday (Aug. 25th) is the last day. Walk the village and find those ducks that are hiding from you in the front windows of participating businesses. Happy hunting.

It's finally here! The Village of Hamburg Police Department is once again participating in the Lucky Duck Scavenger Hunt. With the help of several of our local businesses, several police themed rubber ducks have been hidden in store front windows on Main Street and Buffalo Street.
Can you find all the ducks?

Located out front of Village Hall are entry forms. Grab one, look for those businesses with a webbed duck foot print in their window and find their hidden blue line rubber duck (pictured below). Once you've found all the ducks, fill out your information and drop your entry in the box out front of Village Hall. Those who participate and submit an entry will be entered in for a raffle at the conclusion of the event on August 23rd.

Don't forget to submit photos of you participating in the event by either scanning the QR code on the poster at Village Hall or clicking the link https://cpdny.org/Ducks.

There will be “A little less conversation” and more ice cream eating. “it’s now or never” once it’s gone it’s gone.

It's always a difficult time of the year for businesses, when part of the staff leaves for college. It's hard to say goodbye - they have become part of our family and we depend on them. We have watched them grow and mature from not being able to make a cone or how to hand back change to doing it with ease. Congratulations on the new path they are about to take, we wish them the best. Thank you to all of you for making their first jobs one they will remember and treasure for the rest of their lifes. Now on to training the new staff.

At Main Street "It's a dog eat ice cream world". We love our dogs, provide fresh water outside on our front steps for them each day and sell "buddy's treat" (ice cream and dog biscuit). We do ask that you do not bring your dogs inside (unless it is a certified therapy/service dog) as it is against New York State health codes. We have a take out side window for you and your "buddy" to order from. You can however have your furry friend join you for a treat on our outside patio, as long as it is people and animal friendly. Yes we make our own ice cream cakes and ice cream pies. They are not make in a factory, shipped in a truck and then sit on the store shelf for weeks. We make them right at our shop, with fresh ingredients and never shipped. Preorder or take a chance and walk in to pick one up - they go fast - because fresh and local is the cool thing to do. How can it be Bills preseason game is today?

When a place goes above and beyond they deserve to be recognized. the new bakery in Ellicottville - Ellicottville Bake Shop went above and beyond for our wedding breakfast. We called a few other places and never received calls back, then found out there was this new place in town. They responded immediatley. We asked if they could take their breakfast sandwich and make wraps with them - they said of course, and they were delcious. The scones and danish out of this world good. They were packaged with love and care, the staff was great and the manager Kevin Fisher was top notch professional and willing to help anyway he could, he even went out and bought the wraps as they currently aren't on the menu - maybe after this they will be. If you are in Ellicottvile I recommend you check them out, located across from Tops - they have both inside and outside seating. Thats my review for the day :)

For all those asking, our daughter’s wedding went great, Weather cleared up and was beautiful at Holiday Valley ski resort. Perfect weekend with great friends and family. Now it’s time to get back to work.
