Welcome New Families, Returning Families, and Continuing Campers to 2nd Session CTN Summer!! And what’s a more traditional welcome, than great food. At Camp Tel Noar that has to include Grilled Cheese, Tomato Soup, and Sweet Potato Fries! Food prep is a group effort at CTN, from Edgar manning the grilled cheese, and Leo and Merari prepping the garlic bread sticks, to Vanessa setting silverware and Andrea creating our beautiful, welcoming, menus. As our 2nd session Camp Tel Noar campers come rolling in, we remember the old camp song, “Make new friends, but keep the old, One is silver and the other… 🎵 Gold!”.
Everything old is new again! As we are thrilled to welcome new campers to CTN, it’s a great time to flash back on the retro stylings of one activity from first session. Campers put an original Polaroid SLR 680 camera, circa 1984 (!), to work. They each choice their favorite place around camp and photographed each other in an instant. Seeing the prints fly out of the camera, and then images appear, over a few minutes, was a brand new, decades old, experience for the campers (if not for the head of media, whose parents the camera belonged to). As a bonus Flash Back, Ella was paging through our Archive collection of Zichronot (the CTN Yearbook) from the 80’s and found her mother in Bunk 9! Another event to document! Carla, and the Culinary Arts elective, put the Master Chef campers to work refining their pizza 🍕 skills. 12 Minutes in the camp kitchen ovens and it’s good to go, and go fast it did. There was just enough for Carla, and her team, to determine a winner, 🏆 to be announced after dinner tonight. From the looks of the participants, everyone was happy with the results. 😋
Ari was feeling wheely good when she created some snacking 🍩 hamsters 🐹 using AI art prompts in her Media elective! Always something fun at
After a long fun day of ruach and play, it’s wonderful to get a comfy sleep. 🛌 This morning Bunks 8 & 18 showed us that when you are tired enough any spot at CTN is comfy. 💤 As the rest of camp came into the dinning hall to find happily dreaming campers. 😴 When they awoke after at the end of Announcements all they had to say was, “Did we miss anything?” and “Sorry that we over slept”. 🥱😊
