Have a safe & wonderful day!
We already had an F-35 USAF flyover while out picking the blueberry field! My day is already great! Farm stand is open! Stop in!

07/04/2024

Not everyone gets a F-35 flyover for the 4th of July at their farm! Those of us along the NY/VT boarder from Poultney to Burlington did today! AIM HIGH USAF! πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

1st picking of our Organic Grown Blueberries is happening here on RiversideFarm! We are a few days early this year! We will have them out in the farm stand sporadically this week but after that we should have loads of them! It looks like another good crop of them this year.
We have also added Organic Grown Radishes & Onion Greens to the farm stand along with the Asparagus we already had out there daily. We are giving the Rhubarb patch a few days rest. It can't keep up with the demand. But when it recovers and gets some that is ready to pick we will have it out there again. The string beans are getting ready to produce. And we will have lots more items in a couple weeks. The summer is starting to bring in the fruits of our labor.

We are officially open for the season. Lots of organic grown Rhubarb. Limited Asparagus available. We will be adding in a few other odds & ends soon. If the flag is out We are open. Basically we are open daily 8-ish till 8ish. Spring has sprung!

Photos from Riverside Farm - Locally Grown Farmers Market's post 05/07/2024

1st Asparagus of the season! Rhubard is about ready to start pulling too. Farm stand will be open this weekend. Probably in the afternoon on Saturday! Asparagus will be limited until it gets going. But we should have plenty of Rhubarb. Spring is here!

We still have organic grown tomatoes(large reds & yellows & bags of greens for relish or cooking & small red romas), small Onions (white & reds with tops), small bell peppers, mixed hot peppers, the last few pints of blueberries from cold storage, and a few other odds & ends that we picked out of the gardens before the weather changed today to wintery. We grow everything organically here at the farm with organic fertilizer and no pesticides. The late warm weather gave us a huge extended season and we just picked over 2 bushels of tomatoes off the plants yesterday to ripen inside or sell green for whatever your needs are. They are all sizes giant down to golfball and everything in between. It might have been a tough growing year with all the rain but we rounded out the season okay. We hope to be open 2 more weeks. Come and get some tomatoes to ripen in your window or some ready to eat today. Grab a few onions for that Chilli or soup you are going to want on to ward off the chill this week! And you can chop & freeze them for later use too!
We are on 12144 US Route 4 in Hampton NY - the older farm with the big blue house on the south side of the road on the NY side of the NY/VT state line bridge where the 4 lane highway ends on the VT side & it is 2 lanes on the NY side. Across the river from the VT Welcome center and about 2 miles outside of Fair Haven, VT.
Map on our page.
We are open 8am to about 6pm daily.

We still are picking & lots still coming from our gardens! Organic Grown Peppers, Hot Peppers, Summer Squash, Patty Pan Sumnmer Squash, Zuccihni, Eggplant, Tomatoes, small Onions & Rhubard. We still have Organic Grown Blueberries in our climate controlled cold storage. So we have pints of those out in the stand too for a bit longer. We have a whole new slew of Tomatoes just turning ripe & trickling in. They are the best of the season! We have a bunch of pinted up little Roma Tomatoes too. They are great to slice on for sandwiches, salads, snacking, or for anything really!
We plan to be open for at least the rest of October and if we still have produce possibly into early November. The stand is open generally 8am - about 6 or 7pm daily. We are right on Route 4 at the NY/VT state line. (Last place on the NY side before you hit the State line Bridge and the 4 lane highway) We are the older farm with the Big Blue House & Blue Sheds and big old brown barn on the south side of US/State Route 4 in Hampton, NY! Support you local small farms! πŸ‘©β€πŸŒΎπŸ§‘β€πŸŒΎ

We are getting in an assortment of our organic grown produce for the farm stand. We still have lots of great organic blueberries 🫐! We have Rhubarb, String Beans, Eggplant, Summer Squash, Zucchini, Patty Pan Squash, Radishes, Tomatoes, Bell Peppers, Hot Peppers, and Cucumbers. Everything is organic grown with NO pesticides and NO sprays. We only use organic fertilizer at planting.
Visit us (12144 State Route 4 Hampton NY) on State/US Route 4 at the NY/VT state line just on the NY side of the Poulney River across from the VT Welcome Center at the end of the 4 lane highway on the VT side or just before at the 2 lanes change to 4 lanes other NY side. Just look for our big sign on the older farm with the big blue house and blue sheds. We are a self service farm stand using our former "Wreath Building" as our farm stand again this year.
We are a 4 generation farm keeping things going and building back after the loss of our matriarch, Celestine Ann LaRose. As we bring our working gardens and area back we will continue to grow back to our former farm stand service offerings.
Hey! We missed you all and resetting our roots! (And vacating the w**d roots !) We are glad to be getting back to playing in the dirt and offering healthy produce & products again!

We have a little of this & that coming in. Saturday we will have organic grown radishes, green beans, zucchini, sumner squash, patty pan summer squash, asparagus, rhubard & blueberries!
We planted yet a third garden last weekend with about 400 starter plants that another farmer gave us that they couldn't get into the ground. We cleaned out a spot for them and they are already taking on nicely and have some peppers coming on some of the plants ready. And our other two gardens are starting to pop even if they started a little late. That just means we will have great veggies later into the season as the earlier plantings run past prime. As always we do not spray our plants and only use organic fertilizer at time of planting. We manually keep our gardens clean and bug free. We hope mother nature is good to us and have what she allows us each year. Stay tuned for more produce to come!

We are finally open for the season here at Riverside Farm Locally Grown Farmers Market. We have our organic grown Blueberries, Rhubarb, & Asparagus. We have our first organic grown garden items coming in. We are putting them out as we pick them. More items will be added as mother nature gives them to us. Keep an eye on our page. We will post updates.
We have been busy reclaiming more of our working area on the farm this spring. We expanded our garden by 2X this year. Not quite back to our old level but we are gaining. It took some time to get the second garden started but it is coming along nicely.
We are in the smaller self service stand again this year (the former Christmas Wreath building) . Next year we plan to move back into the bigger farm shop again. As we will be able to get a faster jump on the season and get the earlier crops going and offer a larger selection.
Stop on by the farm at the NY/VT boarder bridge on Route 4 in Low Hampton (just outside Fair Haven on the NY side across the river from the Vermont welcome Center. See what we have to offer in local grown organic produce!

We are finally returning to our roots here at Riverside Farm after our hiatus due to Covid & mom's battle with cancer. Ray & I will continue the family farm as the 4th generation to do so since 1923 when it was purchased by my great grandparents. We will be running smaller scale this year to get our feet re-wet. Ray has retired from teaching & I still work full time so we need to find a new groove with all this.
Please support your LOCAL farms and keep us moving into the future. We appreciate all of your support!

11/05/2021

With the passing of Ann (Mom) in August and us not knowing what was going on during that time with her & new strains Covid and the possible regulations that might come with that, we did not order our Christmas trees this year. 😞 The good news is Ray is retiring from teaching this coming June and he says he may be up to the task of managing the farm stand for the holiday season next season. So look for the farm stand being back open for 2022! There is a lot that can keep him busy during his retirement here! πŸ˜„πŸŽ…πŸ€ΆπŸ§‘β€πŸŽ„β˜ƒοΈπŸŽ„

10/16/2020

We are sorry to announce that due to Covid & Ann's extreme high risk to all viruses & infections in her current medical situation we will not be open for our Christmas holiday season at our farm stand for 2020. We did not make this decision lightly and had planned to find a way to carry on through the season as usual. However, Ann's current treatment course makes her even more susceptible to all illnesses and we do not want to take any chances with her health. We fully plan to return in 2021 when her course of care has gotten to a safer level. We will miss seeing all your families and happy faces but we will take the time to enjoy our own family during this time. We hope that you all have great holidays and the merriest of Christmases and a Happy New Year.
