Extended hours and now open Sunday! Embrace the suffering
This is my 7 year transformation.
During this time I learned how to eat, how to lift, how to be comfortable in my own skin, how to be proud of myself, how to fail, how to push myself, how to step outside of my comfort zone, how to not give up, how to listen to my body, and understanding what dedication actually is.
But most importantly I learned that health and fitness DO NOT go hand in hand. When I started 7 years ago I believed that getting the ideal body would be me achieving health but that wasn't the case. In fact the fight for the ideal body brought me further from health than when I started my journey 7 years ago.
Health is creating a balance between mind, body, and spirit. Creating and understanding what your body needs to be efficient, function properly and just feeling good.
Fitness is stopping for nothing to achieve a goal specific to a sport or activity. This means sacrificing mind, body, and spirit to succeed. At times fitness pushes you so far from health that you lose yourself.
Can you maintain health while fighting for a fitness goal? Yes, but you have to establish health before you achieve fitness.

Hi everyone! For once I am actually going to take the time to explain what it is that I actually do in gym.
For the past 5 years I have been a personal trainer, for going on 4 years now I have been a licensed massage therapist, and for the past year I have added health and wellness coaching and nutrition coaching to my box of tricks.
So how can I help you?
I work out of Balanced Health and Fitness, a gym located in Harbor Springs, Mi. There I work with clients one-on-one helping them accomplish goals via realistic programming and education.
These sessions last an hour and can cover anything from exercises to improve balance, programming for better aesthetics, to analyzing current diet patterns to improve weight outcomes, and creating positive changes for better health.
I'd love to work with you and help you start accomplish you goals.

Hello Balanced Health and Fitness members,
We want to provide you with an update on our gym’s availability.
We are excited to share that, per guidelines from Michigan Governor Whitmer's Executive Order No. 2020-114, our gym will reopen at 5:00 am on 6/10/2020.
For the safety of our staff and members, we’ve modified our hours. We will be open from 5:00 am to 7:00 pm M-F, with a 2 hour blocked time from 8a-10a for adults over 70, 7:00 am to 12:00 pm Saturday and we will be closed Sunday. These hour changes are only temporary and in place to help us cope with the new level of care required to keep everyone safe.
We will continue to uphold our rigorous standards of cleanliness by ensuring machines and surfaces are continually sanitized and disinfected throughout the day. Additionally, everyone will have their own bottle of sanitizer to clean equipment before and after use. We will have hand sanitizer upon entry and before exit and we will continue to have hand sanitizer throughout the gym.
The safety and health of our members and staff are of utmost importance as we adhere to COVID-19 policies and mandates from federal, state and local authorities. To create a safe environment for our members and staff, we have implemented the following:
Social Distancing Practices
Staff will ensure social distancing of 6’ for all gym activities.
Equipment may be removed, roped off or disabled to maintain distancing requirements.
Training sessions will resume, with no contact protocols and no equipment sharing during sessions. Spotting will not be available so please use safety racks or the power cages.
Enhanced Cleaning Practices
Hand sanitizer will be available in the lobby and throughout the gym.
Medical grade cleaning products are available throughout the gym.
Thorough pre and post wipe downs of all gym equipment are necessary.
To help keep our community healthy, we ask that you:
Wash your hands frequently and cover coughs and sneezes with your arm as a courtesy to those around you.
Please refrain from using the gym if you are feeling unwell.
If you have questions, please call 231-881-0019 or email at [email protected]
Thank you!
So we are bummed to announce that we have to close today at 3pm to help slow down the spread of COVID-19.
Gyms were just recently included in the executive order to temporarily close starting today Monday March 16th at 3pm.
We will keep you posted for more updates and when we can open again.
For those of you with active memberships we will freeze them until we can get back at it 💪. Stay healthy folks....
We are requesting that anyone who has experienced mass transit, to please self quarantine for a minimum of 14 days. Thank you for your cooperation and help in community health.
Too tired for the gym? We can help!!
We will be closing at 3, because of the weather! Thank you.
The gym is closed until tomorrow at 5AM. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Electric is fixed and back on! Sorry for the inconvenience
Power is out at the gym this morning. We will update when we have information. Thank you
A power line is down and the gym will be closed until 2 or 3 this afternoon. Sorry!!

Veteran Sandbag Workout Challenge Update:
Hey everyone! Brute Force has come through with the workout details, so take a peak at the Santa scroll in the picture. We think it’s going to be a lot of fun, but more importantly we are trying to raise money and awareness for the Mission 22 veterans non-profit, whom are working hard to help veterans in need. Currently, we work with local (Emmet Co.) veterans regularly with our non-profit Reel Liberty, so this has a lot of meaning to us. We would love for you to join our team.
The link is below:
https://bruteforce.regfox.com/12-days-of-christmasbrute-force-style
Sign up under Team Reel Liberty. The registration fee goes to Mission 22. If we have any veterans interested, please let us know so we can sign you up and pay the fee. Our non-profit Reel Liberty would like to pay for the veterans interested in joining us.
As you can see on the poster, we are holding this at:
Balanced Health and Fitness in Harbor Springs
Saturday December 16th @ 9am.
We have a limited amount of bags, so we will likely team you up with a partner, and take this on in cycles. It’s really important to let us know if you will be joining us, so please text the number on the poster.
This is not some kind of crazy fitness challenge, so PLEASE don’t feel intimidated. This is purely for fun and helping a fellow nonprofit veterans group.

Good news: researchers are saying that relaxing in a hot bath and doing absolutely nothing may be just as beneficial for your body as a 30-minute walk.
