Just wanted to say if you’ve been struggling lately, you are not alone. This time of year can be hard for so many reasons.
If you are struggling with illness or a diagnosis it can feel even more heavy. For me it’s those things plus worry for others.
I realized how much I needed to cry when I ran out to pick up our csa and a song came on the radio. You know that song that makes you feel all the things.
It’s ok to and sometimes really good to cry.

If life is feeling heavy right now, a big hug and so much love. You aren’t alone my friends.

Kristen is awesome! We have been working together for well over a year and a half. She shows up for herself, even when it’s hard ❤️
Just wanted to share her experience, she has worked so hard on her overall health…. It’s so much more than physical. In her words:

“I recently completed my first 5k in under 35 minutes. When I started my fitness journey, I was only able to walk for about 10 minutes before needing to stop. Ive been working on improving my health for the last year and a half and spent the last six months specifically training for my first 5k. Dedicating my time and effort to the training process was definitely key to my success. Showing up when I didnt feel like it was difficult, but definitely necessary to meet this goal.

Something I didnt expect was that this goal was much more psychologically challenging for me than it was physical. Years worth of accumulated self-doubt wore on me during training. It was a constant battle of learning to push my mind where my body was, surprisingly, willing to go.

The moment my stride crossed the finish line, I was struck with a wave of emotions that I am still riding out weeks later. I was overwhelmed with relief and pure joy. I truly cannot remember the last time I held that amount of exhilaration, pride, and respect for myself. This accomplishment has brought me to tears - it was a fight against being “my own worst enemy” and I won.”

Remember friends…. Rest is a crucial part of training. This is where the gains happen before we take it back into breakdown mode

I say this time and again but I love what I do, I meet the BEST people. Even better when they become friends too

We had a little food and drink to just celebrate each other and have the chance to chat without me saying “ok guys next exercise” 😂.
Thanks ladies for being rockstars and amazing humans…
Missed those that weren’t able to come ❤️

Putting this out into the cosmos 😂 I have less than a year to get ready for this.

We talk about doing things outside our comfort zone, but how often do we actually do it? This race is outside my current technical skills, it will test my mental fortitude in a way that no other race or event has, even getting on stage for figure competitions. I admit it scares the s**t outta me ❤️😂
It is so hard and common for people to quit during the event that they even have on a T-shirt.

Doing hard things, seemingly impossible things, shape you and help you to become a more resilient human.

is on the calendar.

Today was one of my events I’ve been working toward. The Divide in Manton was one of the hardest events I’ve done. 50 miles with large chunks like this video.

Thankful it was 90 degrees 😂
I finished, which was my goal 🤘🏻

Now time to recover before the next event 😂🙏

I teach EVERYONE how to deadlift. It is a functional movement and doing it correctly is important.

Keeping our fitness and strength as we age is so key for quality of life. Karen, at 80, is so badass! When we started working together she was unable to push her hips back into a hip hinge.
We have been slowly working toward getting that bum back so she can really strengthen her glutes, hammies, etc.
She is very proud of her “tookus” 😉

The ability to maintain our independence and do what we love really influences our quality of life.
I hear a lot from people about being too busy to exercise and as a small business owner, wife and a mom to two small children I understand. But I would argue, how can we not make time.
It doesn’t have to be much, but adding movement into your day can be life changing.
A big high five to Karen, how lucky am I to get to work with such awesome people ❤️

I hope to be a good example for these two sweets. Love what you do. Move your body, it’s the key to health span.

Thanks to for a great race!

So excited for the mountain bike clinic 😍
First day was awesome!! Rode avalanche and took in the view.

Tomorrow is the big day💪🏻 so thankful to for this.
I’ve been biking for many years but have never had instruction on proper technique. As someone very awesome told me “competence builds confidence”

I’ll be rockin the trails in before ya know it 😉

How was this 10 years ago?! Wow our lives have changed.
Dylan did an apprenticeship after this and is now the foreman of his crew.
We have 2 kiddos that will be starting 2nd grade and kindy. A pooch that I would have to say is actually our first born, and Fez the kitty our newest addition.

What a ride….

For the next 2 months we will be almost the same age 😂😂

When I say I get to work with the most awesome people I mean it ❤️

I believe meeting people where they are, adjusting for the unexpected, and making it fun to exercise is important.
Thanks to Karen for trusting me to be a part of journey 🥰🥰🥰

I am a big believer in goals. It has been something throughout my life that has kept me moving forward, pushing myself to do hard things.

Having something to train for also makes me work hard when I am less than motivated 😂 which happens to me more than I’d like.

Nothing feels better than putting the time in and crossing the finish line.
Cheers to an awesome seriously my favorite event hands down.
Thanks to my buddy for being there every time.

Btw aren’t those trophies kickass?! I think my name is on one of those next year 😉🫶

One thing I have noticed over the years is that if people don’t enjoy the exercise they are doing, well they just don’t stick with it.

It might be the latest fad going around, ya know, THIS exercise is the best. So of course, we all want to do the exercise that is actually going to work. Get rid of my belly, tighten up the back of my arms, lose weight, etc.
But if you hate it? Dread going to the gym or find any excuse to not work out?
Guess what, it’s not going to work 😉
Beside the fact there is no magic exercise to fix everything, find something you enjoy and try to do it most days of the week. That is the magic 🔥
Over time, as you build the habit, then you can add in other modalities of training. If you love cardio, add in some weight training. If you only lift then add in some zone 2 cardio with a little high intensity.
It’s addictive l promise.

They are alllll good. Just do it 😉 I might pick a front squat over a back squat for client based on their assessment and goals. But really adding a squat into your weekly training is so important. It’s a basic human function and getting strong in that movement translates into daily life. Of course if you are training for something specific like a powerlifting meet, then doing your back squat is #1.

I have my clients of every age and ability squatting 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
Do you have a preference?

I am so lucky to do what I love and seriously work with the best people 🥰

Working with a coach can make a huge difference in so many things… injury prevention or coming back from an injury, strength gains, body composition, consistency(super important), or training for a specific goal. Even if that goal is just helping you to start.

If you’ve been on the fence, knowing that exercise is important, don’t overthink it.

Just start.

Go for a walk, do some bodyweight squats, or go to the gym and do a machine circuit. It all helps and can make a difference. ❤️

If you need a little guidance, I’m happy to help.

I love this 😂 mid-action split jump. Food for thought- as we age one of the things that is the first to go is our fast twitch muscle fibers.

This is a big deal.

Training power is a great way to maintain it and can be really fun too. When I was pre and postpartum, I had to do lots of rehab to help heal after baby. This is IMPORTANT- don’t skip it!!!
Then I eased in by prepping the tissues-joints, ligaments, tendons, muscles with some low impact stuff first. I did this for a bit, getting used to feeling the juggling bits bounce 😂🤦‍♀️ I had to mentally move past that part.

I work towards having some of my older clients do some of these movements as well. The ability to catch oneself cannot be overstated.

Thoughts? Do you put a bit of power work in your workouts?
