Odawa Casino and its venues are owned and operated by the Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians, and the number 94 represents a major landmark for the tribe. In September of 1994, the tribe was signed into reaffirmation as a federally recognized sovereign nation. This opened many doors for the tribe, one of which is economic development, which helps to fund tribal services and stimulates economic growth in the surrounding community. Sovereignty allows the tribe to be self sufficient and encourage both the tribe and its neighbors to flourish. Room 94 is an added example of that sovereignty being practiced in a good, positive way.

We can’t wait to bring you everything Room 94 has to offer, including a delectable and unique menu, a divine selection of brews and bourbons, games for the whole crew, and a deck with view like no other. There’s always room for everyone at Room 94.

Something to keep in mind when looking at this months moon. Those little Spirits sometimes carry the most powerful of messages, much the same as our own children teach us something new every day. Diesel Tax Exemption Shut Off.

Attention LTBB Tribal Citizens and Departments who purchase DIESEL fuel at Biindigen: Per the LTBB/State of Michigan Tax Agreement, the Tribe has a quota of tax-exempt diesel gallons we may sell in a calendar year. We will reach our 2023 quota by the end of November and will therefore need to shut off the tax exemption for DIESEL ONLY for the remainder of the year once our quota is reached. Another notice will go out once the exemption is officially turned off. Diesel may still be purchased at Biindigen; however, it will not have the tax exemption applied. The tax exemption will be available again starting January 1st, 2024 as our annual quota will renew. Youth Beading Event Reminder.

We’ll be kicking off our Youth Beading Workshop Series tomorrow for tribal Youth ages 12-24. To pre-register please text or call Tina at 231-340-1910. A great opportunity to make new friends and hang out with peers. We’ll see you all tomorrow at Noon at the LTBB Government Center. Black Bean (Chicken) Soup will be available at lunch and throughout the day. Please send/bring a water bottle, and there will be a vegetarian soup option and lots of snacks!

As part of Native American Heritage Month, the LTBB SPRING Prevention is taking a group down to the Ziibiwing Museum! This is open to the Tribal Community

If you plan on attending, we are asking you be at the LTBB Health Park by 9:30am as we are going to be leaving at 10 am! We should arrive back at LTBB Health Park estimating around 6pm. Snacks will be provided for the ride and a lunch will be served.

It's hunting season again. here is a couple of reminders of some program we have. First is that you can harvest a deer and donate it to elders. You just have to call and drop off to one of the processors listed on the flyer. Second, we are still offering 10 dollars a head for CWD testing and a chance to win $500, $200 & $100. good luck & have fun!

Community Health along with SDPI would like to honor and celebrate Native American Heritage month by providing food boxes for Tribal families, just in time to add an alternative dish option for the upcoming holiday. From the Decolonizing Diet Project Cookbook, the traditional hearty Bison Stew with instructions and all ingredients will be available in the food box. If you attended the SPRING Fall Encampment event a few weeks ago, you may recall this tasty dish. If not, you’re in for a real treat.

The Gijigowi Anishinaabemowin language Department is excited to announce our upcoming event "Aambe Anishinaabemodaa!" which translates to "Come on, let's speak the language!"

On Friday, November 17th from 9AM - 5PM at the Community Center we will be hosting fluent speaker & teacher Isadore Toulouse. This is an all-ages event, no language experience necessary. Breakfast and lunch will be provided, please RSVP to [email protected] or simply reply to this email.

During the event we will be going over simple language lessons, playing games, and have time for questions & translations with Isadore. This is a great opportunity for those already learning the language, those interested in learning the language, and folks who work in cultural or community driven positions for the tribe.

We hope to see many tribal employees, citizens, and community members there together for a day of learning.
