Excited to switch up our decor in anticipation of fall! Thank you so much Manuela’s Everlasting Flowers for another lovely creation as always!
Came for a few leaves, left with a bowl. Guess we’re making pesto!
First “fruits” of hubby’s labor!
Thank you Facebook for the lovely suggestion! We recently transformed one of our fields into a “party garden”! So far it’s working great as a natural deer repellent AND gives festive vibes! 🎉🎉🎉
NO ONE TOLD US OF THE ADORABLENESS THAT ARE BABY COCHIN WITH THEIR LIL SADDLEBAG LEGS! 🥰🥰🥰
Spring time is here and our girls are feeling bountiful! We’ve got lots of eggs for sale! Unwashed and washed available!

Were used to the birds making nests near by but this is a new one!
I spy with my little eye another birds nest!
Nestled in a row of foldout chairs in our carport. 😂
Spring=babies for everybody! Found a mockingbird nest in our hawthorn bush. No wonder the cats are so mesmerized by the front window 🤣🤣🤣
THIS is what happens when you get lazy collecting eggs. Introducing Lil Peepster Class of ‘24 and shout out to Ms. Fluffybutt for best broody hen of the month!
UPDATE: Rehomed with his forever flock 🥰
Pure Dominique rooster looking for his own flock of ladies. He’s friendly but fights with our main rooster. Small rehoming fee.
Last week our newest family members arrived! I forgot how adorable baby chicks are but omg the innate stranger danger never ceases to amaze me! 🤣🤣🤣
This weekend we spring cleaned and disinfected our “halfway” coop
in anticipation of the future Murray Crew (currently en route) becoming pullets (it feels like it happens so fast 🥰).
Stepped away to get the hose and was surprised to see bird p**p on the floor (after I had spent forever sweeping…mind you no chickens have been in here in about 6 months)
and look up and see spring is giving babies everywhere!! 🤣🤣🤣
After much dreaming, a little bit of doing, we officially have a flagpole! Now to create a custom flag to hang underneath!
Mrs. Black does not let her small stature hold her back! She will patiently wait until she can be the next one to sit on some eggs, even if that means shoving her head under another hen’s butt! 😂😂😂
Our first order from McMurray Hatchery!
In less than two weeks we will have some new pretty babies added to our flock!!
The child surprise will of course be named Geralt 😂

Love the recent freeze warnings we had followed by 70 degree weather 😂😂
What a TINY egg in the middle 😳! It’s smaller than the ones are seramas make!
It only happened once so far so can’t wait to see who is our little layer! 🥰
Farm fresh eggs available!

Saturday on the farm: Xena, Ms. Featherton, and Didi enjoying some yummy leftovers from Cork and Flame 💁♀️
Introduction to our flock #9: Anastasia aka Annie
Annie is sister to Eggly ( #7) and daughter of Ms. Featherton ( #1). If you scroll down, the lineage is undeniable 😂! Annie is one of my favorites and sweet as button with us, but we learned with the Featherton Gang the truth about temperament being hereditary. Their daddy, Chanticleer, used to play “hot lava” with the chickens in the coop and Annie plays a variant with newcomers. She takes the term “pecking order” and turns it into “plucking order”. Don’t need a feather plucker if Annie’s around! Not to fear though because now we put chicken blinders on her when we add to the flock. On the flip side, and like her sweet mama, Annie was the somewhat attentive mother to our Summer 2023 crew and is definitely an earner in our flock.
