Boys & Girls Club of Harlingen

Our teenagers enjoyed a free-for-all game of pop the balloon last week, and enjoyed some delicious fruit as a reward for their proactiveness in triple play 🎈🍉✨

Today the boys got into groups and got their thinking caps on! 🧠🧢They played trivia games led by our staff Brittany and had a great time.

What inspired you to join the team: Growing up at the Boys and Girls Club, I was always inspired by the role models that helped me grow as a person and I wanted to be the same inspiration to the younger generation. 💗🫶

Fun week at our Ben Milam Boys & Girls Club!!
We made pizza and ice cream sandwiches. 😋

For a chance to enter the money machine, our teenagers engaged in games of heads or tails, tug-of-war matches, and a dodgeball match!💵🪢🥳

The 8/9 year old boys are back with more awesome activities to tell everyone about! 😎👏🏽 Today they enjoyed fruit roll ups with strawberries or watermelon with chamoy, they played Superman tag (their new favorite game), and enjoyed some football, soccer, and scooter fun in the outdoor courts!🤗😎

The 8/9 year old girls had too much fun at URBAN AIR!!🤸🏻‍♂️✨❤️‍🔥 If we could stay all day we would!❤️‍🔥✨ Another fun summer field trip added to the books✨🫶🏽!

Great day for some fishin! This week, some of our club members attended fishing camp with our amazing staff, Edward!! Today, on their last day of camp, they went to the Sports Complex to go FISHING! 🎣 They learned so much & were so happy to be able to experience this!

ATTENTION ALL MIDDLE SCHOOL/HIGH SCHOOL CLUB MEMBERS!!

We will be having TEEN NIGHT this Friday from 4:30-8:30!! 🎉🎉🎉

From 4:30-6:30 we will be at the Lon C. Hill Pool, and from 6:30-8:30 we will be having teen night!! Gym 1 will consist of music/dancing and Gym 2 will be a 3 vs. 3 basketball tournament!

You don't want to miss out on this super fun event!! 😀

Today, our Lamar Unit had a blast! Our kids had fun with Kids in the Kitchen 👨‍🍳👩‍🍳 making their very own wrapped fruit roll up pickles stuffed with gushers! They also enjoyed another day of STEM by extracting DNA from strawberries 🍓 🧬🧪!! They even got to take some home as a souvenir!

Dodgeball, game room tournaments, soccer, coloring contests, lego building, and watching movies are just a few of the fun activities the 8-9 year old boys did today!😎👏🏽

Today we made cream cheese and mozzarella bagels!🥯 😋

The 8/9 year old boys had an eventful day filled with football, the park, board games, AND they ended the day with popsicles ! 🤩

At our Lamar Unit we had our last day of show and tell with our special guest Fancy 🦎🐲! He is a bearded dragon and our kids got to learn some fun facts about his breed. They learned how big he will grow, what type of environment he lives in, and what food he eats. Our kids also participated in 2 STEM activities today. They learned about the Puffer fish🐡 and got to create their own using a balloon, baking soda and vinegar. They also learned about DNA 🧬and what it looks like. They got to build their very own edible DNA module that was loads of fun and delicious to eat afterwards!!

We love field trips to Xtreme Jump!! Always a good time! ✨

Harlingen dancers get bodies movin’ at cheer camp HARLINGEN — They moved with unfettered zeal to the music and the energy of that music and the freshness of their excitement.

Yesterday was filled with absolute FUN! We did bike riding, popsicles, and can’t forget painting on canvases!! 🎨🚲

Today at our Lamar Unit, our club members had 3 special guests visit today!! They were Bob, Kevin and Pablo 3 chameleons 🦎♥️that our wonderful staff brought today for show and tell! They learned about what they like to eat, when they change colors, how big they grow, and the environment they live in! They even got to hold them and watch them eat some crickets. They also had fun making butterflies using Chromatography. They learned about separation of solutions/molecules in mixtures!!🦋🧪♥️
