The July 4, 2024, Fish-for-Free Day allows anyone (Pennsylvania resident or non-resident) to legally fish on Pennsylvania waterways with no fishing license required. All other fishing regulations still apply.

Don't have the equipment for fishing? Check out the Borrow a Rod & Reel Fishing Tackle Loaner Program. https://ow.ly/P2AW50S8uVc The public can go to the locations identified and borrow rods, reels and a tackle box full of hooks and other terminal tackle. This equipment is borrowed in much the same way books are borrowed from a library. Those wanting to borrow gear complete a form and the loan is made. The Pennsylvania Office of Child Development and Early Learning, Bureau of Certification Services and Bureau of Early Learning Policy and Professional Development, has released Announcement C-24-01 Guidance to Identifying Toxic Plants in a Child Care Setting. This guidance covers policies and procedures providers should implement as it pertains to toxic plants. It also provides information on plant identification, identifying if a plant is toxic, symptoms of contact with a toxic plant, and information on steps to take if a child encounters a toxic plant. Join the Pennsylvania Child Care Association (PACCA) and the PA Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics (PA AAP) Early Childhood Education Linkage System (ECELS) program for a FREE two-part webinar series, Introduction to Medication Administration for Early Care and Education Providers, on Thursday, June 20 and Tuesday, June 25, 2024, from 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm. In child care, medication can be administered by child care providers to maintain the health of the child, prevent illness, or relieve symptoms. Doing this allows a child who is not acutely ill to attend out-of-home child care. To administer medication, child care providers must comply with laws, regulations, and best practice.
