😎 The cool part about a trap bar is the high or low handles can be used to make it more of a squat or more of a hinge. Here we’re hammering the posterior chain as he pulls with low handles. If we wanted more of a squat pattern and quads we’d hit the high handles.

Lets use 🏃♂️🏃🏃♀️ as an example: as we move through the different phases of a running stride, the forces our body has to deal with at the hip, knee, and ankle vary, from high to almost 0 at points
As our feet return to the ground, our muscles have to protect our joints by decelerating our body mass (even just within a split second, you dont even notice) and then begin another stride by pushing against the ground propelling us forward 💨💨
Think about how many strides you take in a single running session, or in your 3-4 running sessions per week: if you think about the total forces you need to either combat or create, it takes a lot of muscular effort, combining both endurance and strength 💪

Who are the fittest athletes in the world?
Its pretty commonly asked but rarely answered satisfactorily.
One can assume the debate will continue for as long as sports do.
Lets break it down a little further: how do you even figure out how to compare two people of different athletic profile (different sport participation, different activity level etc)? Seems complicated to try to compare two people who do entirely different sports to one another, right?
One of the most universally accepted methods of doing so is by measuring the VO2, or the amount of oxygen a person can utilize in their metabolically active tissues, of an exercising person.
Unfortunately, as we see in slide 2, there are a fair amount of expensive components to DIRECTLY measure VO2 and gas exchange, including a metabolic cart that collects all expired air and measures the amount of air inspired with each breath, an EKG monitor and computer with proper software, and the exercise equipment itself. It can add up quick!

Fortunately for exercise professionals and weekend warriors, there are also ways to INDIRECTLY measure, or interpolate your maximum oxygen consumption based on a non-maximal, inexpensive exercise test like the 12 minute run test, or the George Jog Test.
In each of these, weight, Heart Rate, distance and duration are our desired measurements and they each utilize the graphic relationship between the variables to estimate a person's maximal gas exchange without the extra equipment/training.
That said, there is a margin of error associated with each of the tests based on their statistical accuracy as calculated by their original creators and the reliability/validity analyses that are performed as new discoveries about the body are made

Some very 🔑 cues for OH exercises:
Soft knees (to prevent knee locking/inflexibility)
Breathe into the core (to fill and squeeze front and back re**us muscles)
Squeeze the glutes and quads (to prevent mid and lower spine instability)
Arms fully extended at top (less muscular strain)
Control the bar down to front rack position
