**Help us get an air conditioning unit installed at JMK!**

This coming Thursday, August 29 through September 12, we will be launching our Air Conditioning Unit Fundraiser! You can get involved in 2 ways:

1. Participate by raising funds with us (this will help tremendously):

Be 1 of the 50 people that we need to raise at least $500 (each) to help us meet our goal! If this is you, then follow the steps on the attached document to join in on the fundraiser and also win prizes based on how much money you raise! Friends and family members can buy gourmet popcorn, Mrs. Fields cookie dough, or give a tax-deductible donations for this fundraiser through YOUR ACCOUNT on the safe and secure "Raise 365 app." Details on how to join easily in are on the attached document. (See attached!).

2. Participate buy buying and/or donating yourself!

Purchase the gourmet popcorn, Mrs. Fields cookie dough, and/or make your tax-deductible donations through my fundraising account (or one of my students' accounts if they reach out to you!). Everyone who is involved will be sending out the links where you can purchase and/or donate for this fundraiser this coming Thursday, 8/29!

One of my favorites.

Pictured below is the Greek word that Matthew used which is translated as “righteousness” in the English language.

It means “divine approval,” or “justice” or “what is deemed right by the Lord.” Righteousness according to this passage is “righteousness or justice of which God is the source or author of.”

The same word is used in Ephesians that explains the armor of God and how we should put on the breastplate of righteousness.

When Jesus said “it is finished” just before He died on the cross, He demonstrated the righteousness that meets God’s divine approval. Jesus Christ lived a perfect, righteous life, and paid the sacrificial price of death for our sins. He conquered death by raising from the dead 3 days later, and He is coming back again soon to establish His eternal kingdom. Now, He covers those who seek Him with His righteousness.

So, seek Him and put on His righteousness. Your man made self-righteousness won’t get you very far. His righteousness will last for eternity.

“Jung Moo Kwan,” which is where “JMK” comes from, is the Korean term for “Righteous Martial Arts Institute.” At JMK, we seek to do what’s right, and that can only be truly defined by what Jesus Christ declares as “right.”

Devotion:

Confidence. Confidence is a good thing when it is utilized in the correct context. You want to be confident when it comes to executing your martial arts techniques properly. You want to carry yourself with confidence in your daily life. Having proper confidence can help you develop into a better leader. Too much confidence, or confidence used improperly, however can lead to arrogance, and even pride. So, what is proper confidence? I believe we find it in the context of Hebrews 4:16 (see the Bible verse).

The book of Hebrews says that Jesus Christ is our "high priest" and is the only one who can save us and keep us saved. He paid the price for our sins and He is the one we need to trust. Because of what He did for us, we can have "confidence" to approach Him knowing that He has the power to save us, keep us saved, and take care of us in times of need. So, draw near to Christ with confidence, knowing that He can take care of you, and gladly receive His grace and mercy today!
