Several years ago I started a non profit for children with disabilities or for children from birth to 21 years of age who need rehabilitation services. I name it SHINE & SHOUT. Shine because I want to do every thing in my power to help children Shine. Shout because it reminds me of the Bible story in Joshua 6 where the walls of Jericho fell on the seventh day when God’s children showed their faith and obedience and God fulfilled His promises. The Israelites conquered the wall by singing praises and worshiping the Lord. I know that through my faith and obedience to the Lord He will keep all of His promises in His timing.
I want to thank Katrina Hope Knotts for thinking of us and using her new adventure to help the children we serve.

If you were not invited to our Tupperware party she started and would like to be added just let us know!

We are thrilled to introduce our newest member of the Children's Rehab family, Mrs. Reagan! With a passion for helping children reach their full potential and a dedication to providing top quality care, Reagan brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our team.
Reagan was born and raised in SC, but has been practicing in pediatric physical therapy in Georgia for the past three years. She received her Doctor of Physical Therapy from Emory University, and her undergraduate degree at Clemson University. She and her husband were blessed with a son in August 2023. Reagan is excited to join the Children's Rehab team as she has a passion for pediatrics and helping children reach their full potential. She has experience in early intervention, intensive therapy, suit therapy, aquatic therapy, and hippotherapy. She is certified in DMI
(Dynamic Movement Intervention) and loves using this intervention with many different patient populations and seeing the amazing results and progress these resilient kiddos can make.
Children's Rehab is so blessed to have Reagan on board and look forward to all the wonderful contributions she will make to our center and the lives of the children we serve. Please join me in welcoming Reagan with open arms and best wishes as she embarks on this new journey with us.

Ordinary Angels is in the movie theaters and all I can say is bring your tissues. Hot tears poured down my face throughout the entire movie. It reminded me of so many of my kiddos who were lifted up in prayers and had the biggest support system consisting of the best parents, families, therapist, medical professionals, and communities. Not all had the ending like Michele did. I don’t want to spoil the movie so I won’t say anymore, other than I thought I was okay to see it, but I may should have waited until I could have watched it at home.

Forever Friends. This is something I didn’t realize would happen 18 years ago when we started a pediatric outpatient therapy clinic. My children grew up at Children’s Rehab. They helped me along the way in so many ways. They were amazing at wiping down toys, folding laundry, cleaning windows, and organizing toys. They were also amazing encouragers, play along siders, crying stoppers, and distractors! What I didn’t realize was that the time my children spent alongside our kiddos was actually building friendships. Those interactions turned to chats and conversations that impacted CRC kiddos and my children in the sweetest way. Today as I saw my daughter and this young man taking a selfie I realized what a precious bond they have. We have had kids off and on for years. They have grown up together. Sophie is a senior this year and noticing how so many of my kiddos are growing up, it just hit a little different. I have always been so blessed the Lord allowed my children to be right along side me as I worked. Today it just blessed my heart seeing their little blessings gained from it.

We enjoyed having the opportunity to set up a little ” chill out” room for the Night to Shine prom hosted by West Hartsville Baptist Church. The Teens/ Adults will experience a celebrity style welcome to the event, prom pics and a limousine ride with their prom buddy, dinner, dancing, and even a little karaoke if they choose! A night filled with fun and adventure for sure! Not to forget the main event!! Being crowned king or queen of the prom !! If all of this gets a bit overwhelming then they can come chill out in our little space we created to get rested up for their participation in their next adventure 💕

Dear ASHA Members:

ASHA is in the process of analyzing the recent revisions to the developmental milestones used in the CDC’s Learn the Signs. Act Early. initiative. This process includes a comprehensive comparison of the previous vs. new guidelines, as well as a comparison to ASHA-specified milestones. ASHA is also conducting an extensive review of published scientific literature.

ASHA has reached out to CDC, expressing its concern about inconsistencies and urging the agency to utilize the expertise of SLPs when making changes to developmental milestones in speech, language, feeding, and social communication. In general, ASHA is supportive of efforts to help identify children earlier, but the milestones presented to parents must be evidence-based in order for families to make well-informed decisions about their children's care.

ASHA will provide members with an update once its review process is completed and correlating action steps are determined.
