It’s here at Burdock and we’re highlighting some of our higher end selections we have available at the bar! Today we are featuring the Hibiki 21!

The Hibiki 21 year old lies in the middle of Suntory’s Hibiki line, between the Hibiki 17 Year Old and Hibiki 30 Year Old releases. When blending the whisky the goal is to find harmony, or a delicate balance. This pursuit leads the master blender to choose the best combination of whiskies from across Suntory’s notable distilleries. This has taken centuries to perfect, but the result is a truly world-class bottle. To the nose it gives off a sweet with rich sherry, caramel scent and lots of fruit notes as well ;blackcurrants, lemon, pears with vanilla. On the palate it gives a Sweet caramel taste with a touch of smoke & oak and spice. It finishes with a nice long touch of smoke.

Meet the man behind the drinks, Dante Javar
———
Dante (aka Victor Skantay when behind the bar) is renowned for his elevated hospitality and cocktail perfection. Born in the Napa Valley, the cradle of California's vibrant food and wine landscape, Dante cut his chops behind the bar in San Francisco at the age of eighteen. Later, he moved to New Orleans to study classic cocktails and soak up some Southern hospitality that the South is well known for. Dante has also bartended in Oakland, Hawaii, and most recently, Las Vegas.
Now, celebrating his twentieth year behind the stick, he is now at Burdock. If you are up to it, come to Burdock and talk politics and religion with Dante... after a few drinks that is

Chef Neil moved to California from Wisconsin in the early 2000’s. He was hired as a Sous Chef and quickly climbed the ranks to Executive Chef at The Farmhouse Inn, in Forestville, CA. His talents and hard work helped them earn a Michelin Star during his 18 year run at The Farmhouse Inn.
Chef Neil’s cuisine is a personal reflection of his creative spirit that can manifest as a recreation of the best things he has ever tasted or an epiphany influenced by the seasonal bounty of his surroundings. Chef Neil is excited to bring an ever evolving menu that highlights the abundance and beauty of Sonoma County to our patrons.

Welcome to Duke’s Common! We are a casual eatery serving a fun mix of classic bar snacks, sandwiches and sweets. Our menu is designed to provide fast, creative and satisfying food that can be enjoyed on the go or in our cheerful commissary. Duke’s Common is a collaboration by the Team of Duke’s Spirited Cocktails and Chef Scott Romano of Dry Creek Kitchen. Our goal is to be a high-spirited place to gather with friends to enjoy a quick bite and drink in the heart of downtown Healdsburg.
