This client has been doing her brows all by herself!

She decided to come in and place her trust in my hands— I know how scary this can be!

I wanted to create a shape that would keep her brows full while also opening up her eyes with a slight arch.

I filled her brows in very lightly with a morphe brow pencil, added some brow gel and used a tiny bit of concealer for a slight pop…

& VOILA!! This was the final result!

MAKING MAJOR MISTAKES- with these 4 tips 👈🏼

Mature skin aka clients over the age of 60 have been some of most challenging brows I’ve had to work on up to date.

When I first started learning brows, the training that we had available was very scarce and would only focus younger skin.

The tips that are compiled in this post are from me making mistakes from not knowing these things prior.

Mature skin is MUCH different than younger skin and needs to be approached with much more care.

Comparisonitis is an tricky trap 😞

You see everyone growing, selling products, saying “YOU NEED THIS TO BE SUCCESSFUL”…

Or “this is what I did to be successful…”

& with information overload it can get SO overwhelming as to which path is the RIGHT one.

I’m hear to keep it real. There is no right or wrong path to take…

But here are 5 ways to make sure you are able to build a successful beauty biz:

1. Define what YOUR version of success looks like. How will you know when you get there? **Whenever you feel lost, tune back into your WHY. It’s easy to lose the magic when you focus too much on the money…

2. All marketing strategies work whether they are paid or organic… you don’t need to pay thousands for marketing courses. There are tons of super affordable books that teach you how to do this yourself.

3. Get really damn good at your craft and get your clients the best results. Invest time into practicing and enhancing your skill because if your brows are undeniably BOMB, it will sell itself.

4. Take the reigns on ensuring you have a strong mindset. Don’t beat yourself down if you’re not “there yet”, stop “shoulding” yourself cuz you see everyone else doing it, and focus on what makes YOU happy.

5. Remember biz is a holistic process. Take care of you as you are the source for all of your success. When you pour into you, it will show in the rest of your biz. ✨

Don’t get lost in the noise goddess. Success is simple. Stay consistent. Practice correctly, market yourself, get reviews/ social proof etc.

As a lifelong student myself, it’s always scary to take the leap of faith to invest in a mentor. Over time I’ve learned what to look for when it comes to the level of care that someone puts into their craft and Jackie’s training exceeded the standards.

I honestly did not know what to expect but she was SO down to earth yet so knowledgeable. I took a private class because it had been 3 years since I’ve taken an in person training so I was way past due to sharpen my skills.

I got a little comfortable and developed some habits that weren’t helping me get the results I saw all over IG so I knew I had to step it up in my PMU skills and I knew I needed someone to watch me correct them in real time.

Trainings can be so humbling but I’m always learning to keep a beginners mind and I really loved how she kept encouraging me to try new things / experiment.

Her technique feels like a meditation and I realized how important it is to figure out YOUR ideal speed as an artist. Slow and steady for me all the way LOL I was definitely rushing thru my work so this was a good reality check.

Her branding and kit was next level and so inspiring (I’ll definitely be booking a mentorship call to work on mine) and was a luxurious experience.

Overall, I feel like am able to enjoy my craft again. No more hand cramps, unnecessary swelling/ redness, less back pain and knowing what I’m doing wrong gives me so much peace of mind.

Yup, ya heard it here! 👇🏽

Brow lamis are supposed to help break down bonds + rebuild them so that you can move them into a new direction…

& though they do lift, they dont stay sticking straight up.

Which is why you may notice that they “fall” after the rejuvenating cream comes off the next day.

It’s recommend that you continue to brush the hairs into place throughout the day and I still recommend using a brow gel..

Especially if you have heavy/ coarse brow hair.

I’ve seen many of my clients come back with over processed hair because their artist went wayyyyy over the time limit to try to keep the hairs frozen into place..

This is a recipe for disaster as it can permanently damage your brows!

The lami is really great for maneuvering the hairs into a new direction while a light gel helps hold them.

So just in case you were wondering why you’re still having to brush them up— this is completely normal and part of the process as long as it’s still able to move into your desired direction. 💕💕

My TOP 3 FAVE Brow Gels 👇🏽

1. The HOLY GRAIL Brow Freeze by (you can create a laminated look without having to actually do the service with this gel. It’s long lasting and is easy to use— and it doesn’t flake too much unless you mess with the dry time. Once you place it on the rows you have about 15-20 sec before it starts to set to place the hairs where you’d like it to be) The look in the next pic was created with this gel.

2. Benefit 24 Gel— another long lasting product that holds super well. Personally I love Anastasia more just because of the consistency of the product but this also holds very well!

3. Looking for something affordable? Try the clear brow gel! This is great for a light fluff— thought It doesn’t hold nearly as long, I love using it as a boost for before and after pictures.
