Can you believe we are only 187 days till Christmas??? Here at CCFRC, We are already preparing for our Christmas Project. If you would like to assist us in getting ready for our 2024 Christmas Project please consider donating new unwrapped toys to CCFRC.

Last year we helped 1965 children in Citrus County who otherwise would not have been able to enjoy the joy of Christmas.

Drop-off days are Monday - Friday 9:30 am to 2:30 pm. For your convenience we have an Amazon wish list you can order from and have it directly shipped to CCFRC.

We are so thankful for our community's amazing support for this project and are eager to get started on it again.

Update: We have two locations. Our main location (off of HWY 200) is still open with regular service hours of 9:30AM-2:30PM.

It is with a heavy heart that we make this post... Since 2011, when we opened our drop-in center, we have served hundreds of people experiencing homelessness. We are having a hard time finding volunteers to keep Connections open for all of our services.

We have suspended all of our drop-in services at our Connections building.

Our Connections free clinic for the uninsured will remain open on Wednesdays from 9:00AM- 11 AM

Medicaid and food stamp assistance will continue to be offered at our main location. In addition, our homeless population will have increased eligibility for food assistance from our pantry. We thank you for your continued support to Help, Sustain, and Grow our community in need.

Meet Jessica she is a 10-year Girl Scout in Troop 14114 in the Circle of Springs Service Unit, a part of Girl Scouts of West Central Florida council. She has a passion for helping others and planning parties/events. In 2023, Jessica completed her Silver Award, the second highest award in Girl Scouts, by creating Jessica’s Birthday Bash boxes. These kits, inspired by and in memory of Ginger West from Family Resource Center, included everything needed for a small birthday party including cake, icing, candles, balloons, streamers, a banner, and even a small gift. They were distributed through local food pantries to families and fulfilled a huge need for the community. She is currently seeking donations to make and restock the kits to help more kids have a birthday they deserve. An Amazon Gift List has been set up for those who would like to contribute:

As a spin off project, she recently made 60 summer activity kits for foster children in Citrus County. This was made possible through the Family Resource Center, Girl Scout cookie donations, and her entrepreneurial business contributions from
CreateitWildCrafts on Etsy. 50% of her profits go into her projects to help others within the community.

Basics United Homeless Outreach is looking for feedback for Catholic Charities for their newest project of Hope. A safe place for those experiencing homelessness to sleep, shower and receive case management services. This option will give our homeless a place off of public property so they won’t be arrested on October 1st for sleeping on public property.

The Center Needs your Help

To our wonderful community;

We have been notified by the county that our lease is not going to be renewed (and that we may be asked to leave before the lease is ended). As a result. we are in need of a new home for the Resource Center if we are to continue to serve the community.

I would hate to tell over 2000 children that there will be no Christmas.
