OhioHealth O’Bleness Hospital is transforming its surgical facilities with a $17.2 million investment. Enhancements will be seen in the surgical operating rooms, Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), sterile processing area and other support spaces.

“It’s a great example of OhioHealth’s continued investment in our vision for healthcare in southeastern Ohio,” said hospital president LeeAnn Lucas-Helber. “The project reflects progress toward our goals of keeping care local and creating a regional hub for specialty services. The investment in these facilities will enable us to keep more surgical care local and provide an improved experience for our surgery patients.”

This project will be the largest single improvement to the hospital in the past decade. Completion is expected by January 2026.

He is a certified therapy dog and joined the Alliance of Therapy Dogs last December.

Albie basks in the attention he gets from staff, and paws-itively loves all the belly rubs. He's part of a growing group of therapy dogs at OhioHealth that supports associate well-being.

When "off duty”, Albie enjoys swimming, snacking and playing with his older pup sibling, Phoebe.

OhioHealth has successfully completed its first-ever bone marrow harvesting – a landmark moment for our Blood and Marrow Transplant and Cellular Therapy (BMT) program.

Basem William, MD, performed the procedure to collect marrow from a donor to support stem cell recovery in the recipient.

The BMT team treats blood cancers and other disorders using the most advanced treatments available. And with this new milestone, we are now the second healthcare system in central Ohio to provide this service.

Morrow County Hospital will become OhioHealth’s 16th full member hospital in January 2025!

The Morrow County Hospital Board of Trustees and Morrow County Commissioners voted this week to enter into a membership agreement. OhioHealth has managed Morrow County Hospital for nearly 40 years, and we’re committed to keeping quality care close to home for Mount Gilead and the surrounding communities.

Nearly 200 people came together on Saturday to celebrate cancer survivorship at the inaugural OhioHealth Cancer Survivor Walk & Run.

Participants gathered at the McConnell Heart Health Center to stride in solidarity, meet with our cancer experts, learn about support services and hear from inspiring speakers.

Exciting News: OhioHealth Dublin Methodist Hospital is expanding!

To better serve the growing needs of the community, this project will increase inpatient and critical care capacity by adding significant square footage to the building and renovating existing space. The hospital’s growth will create 200 permanent clinical jobs, as well as hundreds of construction jobs.

The OhioHealth Mobile Stroke Unit (MSTU) is commemorating five years of life-saving service to the central Ohio community. Responding 7 days a week, MSTU is dispatched to stroke 911 calls through the Columbus Fire Alarm Office.

Two mobile units are specially equipped and staffed by trained providers, different from traditional EMS squads. This allows stroke-specific care to be started while a patient is in route to the hospital. The vehicle also connects virtually with OhioHealth stroke neurologists who help determine if the patient is having a stroke and what type through a CT scan.

Minutes are precious when treating strokes, and we’re thankful to share MSTU has evaluated more than 2,450 patients since it’s launch in 2019.
