Results are in for the first round of The Columbus Dispatch's Best Pizza in Columbus poll! The search has been narrowed to the Elite Eight.

Time to vote in the second round of the Best Pizza in Columbus More than 10,000 votes were cast, and so far you're sticking with the area's longtime favorites. Voting starts today to choose our final four pies.

Columbus, Ohio has been a hotbed for delicious pizza since the 1950s, and RDP has been proud to serve many of the historically great pizzerias from the beginning, as well as many of the newer additions that have continued to make this a great pizza town.

So we are excited that The Columbus Dispatch has announced a bracket of the 16 best pizza makers in Columbus (as nominated by the public), and voting is now available to choose your favorite!

This is sure to be a tight race with so many great pies on the list. The first round of voting ends March 18th, so let your voice be heard!

In 1979, grocery store owners Chuck and Janet Ward took a chance in opening the Little Italy Ristorante. Then in 2022, their grandson Avery took a chance in moving the restaurant from that original spot into a newer and bigger location.

Today, over 40 years of taking chances, creating delicious food and emphasizing a connection with the community has resulted in Little Italy Ristorante being named the Best Restaurant in Central Ohio by the Ohio Restaurant Association.

Please join us in congratulating Terita's Pizza on being recognized by PMQ Pizza Magazine - one of the most well-known pizza industry publications and websites - as one of the TOP 25 independent pizzerias in the entire country. Terita’s Pizza is a staple of the Columbus food scene, operating since 1959.

When interviewed about the recognition, owner Tom Iannario noted that high quality ingredients play a significant role in their success. Tom said, "We've used the best of everything since we started. We haven't changed a thing. The best cheese, the best pepperoni, and I think that says something that we've been in business for all these years."

The highlights from this week's Market Trends Report from RDP Foodservice:

Potatoes – Markets continue to be steady with moderate supplies on larger potatoes and lighter suppliers on smaller potatoes. The industry is expected to avoid a big gap in supply and transition over to new crop. Growing conditions in Idaho have been good this year, and volume and yields are expected to be better than previous years.

Pork - Belly markets continue to be escalated and on the rise this week with lighter supplies and an increase in demand being reported.

CDL A Delivery Drivers – OTR out one night, two times/week.

We are currently in need of OTR Delivery Drivers with current CDL A licensing. Among other traits, this position requires stamina and attention to detail. You'll be tasked with transporting our high-quality products out to customers and representing the RDP brand throughout your journey.

This position is essential to the function of RDP Foodservice, which can be seen in the wages and benefits offered. These include:
✅ Base pay of $27/hr. during training then $31/hour for OTR
✅ Attendance and Professionalism Bonuses
✅ M-F schedule with Wednesday off
- T-S schedule with Thursday off
- Option to work a fifth day if available
- OTR routes can range 500 to 900 cases and 6 to 12 stops per route
✅$150-$200 weekly productivity bonus incentive
✅Full-Time employees are offered health insurance, PTO, life insurance, company-match 401k

The highlights from this week's Market Trends Report from RDP Foodservice:

POULTRY/TURKEY/EGGS:
As predicted, consumer demand and pricing for chicken has increased for most items due to high beef and pork prices, especially for wings as the football season approaches.

PRODUCE:
Iceberg pricing is escalated with lighter supplies, inconsistent weights, and insect pressure due to the recent high temperatures. This includes value added product like chopped and shredded. Romaine pricing is steady but is expected to increase going into next week with lighter supplies and an increase in fringe and internal burn.
