Three years ago, in the middle of the pandemic, when we were approaching our 20th anniversary we realized we couldn't do the celebration we had envisioned to mark the occasion. So, we reached out to as many former employees and family members and friends of Nona's as we could and asked for video Nona's memories to compile in a surprise Nona's anniversary video for Krissy and Tom. It was a huge hit! But someone pointed out recently that we never publicly shared it so that those involved could see! So, three years later, on our TWENTY THIRD (😳) anniversary here it is!

Thanks to all who contributed, thank you also for being a part of this journey, thanks to all of our loyal customers, and stay tuned for ways we want to celebrate this anniversary! Looking forward to having the 20th anniversary party we envisioned in two years for our 25th!

Twenty years ago today on March 10, 2001 we opened our doors in Hingham Square - a dream come true! We had no idea what customers would think of our homemade ice cream flavors and treats, but we have been thrilled and inspired by your response from day one.

We have had so much help along the way from our families and friends! From financing and painting to light hanging and of course, taste testing ...there is no way that we would have survived 20 years without you all!

Also, we have been blessed with an amazing staff over the years - many becoming just like family! You all helped us raise our kids literally in the back room of the store! We have enjoyed watching you all blossom during your high school years and now we are excited to watch you raise your own families and succeed in your own careers!

Finally a sincere thank you to every single customer at Nona’s homemade since 2001. Whether you have come in only once or we have been lucky to serve you three times a week (even if we have been sworn not to tell your kids you were in again)...thank you so much! While we know so many of your names, part of our fun is the nicknames we give you in the back room like coffee oreo man, vanilla frappe man, blue- eyed family, and our favorite family!

In honor of the 20-year anniversary, we are aiming to have several of our signature flavors available every day in March. Coffee Oreo, Hingham Harbor Sludge, Hurricane Madilyn, Mister Christian’s Bounty, Mocha Mia, and Johnny Be Good.

Due to the pandemic and a desire not to draw a crowd, we cannot have our traditional $1 anniversary cone day. Instead we are offering daily specials throughout March! Today’s special is $2.00 kiddie cups and $3.00 small cups.
