Reminder that Julius Caesar auditions are Sep. 2 and 3 from 7-9 PM in Watson Auditoreum. Auditions consist of cold readings from the text and related works and they’re open to everyone. Hope to see you there!

Auditions are open to everyone!

The NMJC Theatre Department is hosting auditions for the play "Julius Caesar" by William Shakespeare on September 2nd and 3rd from 7-9 PM at the Watson Auditorium in Watson Hall. Auditions will involve cold readings from related texts and the play itself. Those interested in auditioning for the role of Brutus should prepare 12-16 bars of a song. Everyone is welcome to audition.

We’re proud to announce that our production of Hamlet has been selected to participate in the 8th Annual FW Fringe Festival in September.

Theatre Network of Texas, Inc. (TNT) and Arts Fort Worth are proud to announce 17 acts for the 8th Annual International Fort Worth Fringe Festival (FW Fringe)

The 8th Annual FW Fringe returns to the theatres of the Fort Worth Community Arts Center in the Fort Worth Cultural District. This year the spaces will be the Sanders Theatre and the Gallery Theatre. The two theatre spaces are located on the same floor and are within in walking distance making transitions from one theatre to another easier than before.

Headlining in the Sanders Theatre - UNDERNEATH THE LINTEL - presented by Starkville Community Theatre - Starkville, MS. In this gripping ghost story by Glen Berger, an eccentric librarian (played by award-winning actor Kris Lee) discovers a weather-beaten book in a return bin — 113 years overdue. Sparked by a message left in its margins, he embarks on a magical quest that takes him around the world and 2,000 years into the past. With astonishing twists and turns, "Underneath the Lintel" draws audience members into an unforgettable odyssey via a one man's monologue to the audience, to himself, and to the forces beyond his control.

Luis Roberto Herrera - Sunrise, FL - FW Fringe debut - AS I EAT THE WORLD - A Latine man confronts his eating disorders and mental health by attempting to literally EAT THE WORLD.

Rachana Rao - Plano, TX - FW Fringe debut - THE ENCHANTING JOURNEY OF KRISHNĀ DRAUPADI: BIRTH, BEAUTY, BOND AND DEVOTION - The dance theater Bharatanrityam beautifully portrays 4 episodes of Krishnā Draupadi’s life in Natyashastra - considered the core of Indian classical dance forms.

We'd like to take a moment to recognize our Theatre students in the graduating class of 2024. Congratulations to Iana Delfyette, Destiny Ott, Gabrielle Perez, Jessica Rosas, and Jerika Sedgwick! Whether in the classroom, the rehearsal room, or the stage, it has been a joy to work with you and get to know you. Good luck in all your future endeavors and our program is honored to have played a part in your journey. Go T-Birds!

Congratulations to Jessica Rosas and Iana Delfyette for graduating this week! They were honored at the TRIO Banquet this evening and we had the best time celebrating them!

Gary is ready for graduation. He hasn’t attended a single class and we’re pretty sure he doesn’t have a transcript. However, we can’t wait to congratulate all our Theatre grads next week! And hang in there Gary. We believe in you too.

Tonight our Theatre Club had their final meeting for the semester! We swore in our new officers and Gary the Skull was happy to be part of the process. We then announced next year’s season to the students. We’ll be making the public announcement of that tomorrow morning, so keep an eye out on this page!

Today the NMJC Theatre Department was proud to honor our two Outstanding Students in the discipline of Theatre. Congratulations to Iana Delfyette and Deija Ramos! They were both seen in our production of The Velveteen Rabbit and they’re both truly outstanding students. Congratulations you two!!
