I have really been taking my time on this one. It represents a huge shift in my way of thinking recently. Close up from the first in my spiritual awakening series.

I usually don’t like to comment on social media much because it’s not worth the headaches of dealing with trolls, but I thought I would share my thoughts on AI stealing artwork. As many of you know for the past 10 plus years my art has been centered around the AI threat and what it means for us and our future. Now as I see it happening, it really doesn’t surprise me. I know that it is an uncomfortable realization for artists, but this is happening to creatives all across the board. AI is not something new. It has been infiltrating our lives for a lot longer than some of you may know. It has been invading our jobs, the stock market, and even apps and banking (as a few examples) for some time.
I believe it is here to stay. AI is not going anywhere. In fact, what we are seeing now is only the tip of the iceberg. Once AI surpasses human intelligence (if it hasn’t already), it will learn to replicate itself as an even smarter and smarter intelligence with no end in sight. AI will act as a God.
I have had plenty of time to wrap my brain around this and my way of dealing with it is to practice acceptance. Change is hard, and when it involves your livelihood, it is even harder. My suggestion would be to stop trying to fight a battle you can’t win. Instead spend that time doing local art shows, going on walks, spend time in nature, and putting your phone down and having human to human interactions. Remember what it is to be human because that is the one thing that AI will never take from us.
