Dear Homewood residents and business owners:

We understand several homeowners/business owners have property damage from the EF-1 tornado that touched down in our community on Monday, July 15.

Homewood is working with the Cook County Emergency Management and Regional Security organization to compile a report on property damage to help determine eligibility for FEMA Public Assistance, which is designed to reimburse local communities for actions taken to mitigate a disaster.

The report will also help determine if FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) individual loan assistance or SBA (Small Business Administration) disaster loans are available to residents and business owners. An online form has been created for you to report property damage to be included in this report.

Please note: Completing this form does not guarantee that assistance will be provided at this time, but will help the Village complete the initial necessary report.

When uploading images, please do not upload more than one image of the same damaged area.

The form will be active until Wednesday, July 31, 2024.

The Beautification Committee would like to highlight homes and businesses who display outstanding curb appeal and property maintenance. These award recipients contribute to the livability of Homewood helping to improve property values for all through their attention to detail, creativity and hard work.

The Beautification Committee is currently reviewing all the homes in Homewood for the awards. Awards are given for overall curb appeal, not just landscaping efforts. The annual Beautification Awards ceremony will be held on September 5. 2024.
