Born and raised on O‘ahu, Kale‘a is a graduate of Kamehameha Schools Kapālama and the University of Nevada at Las Vegas, where she earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting. She’s currently studying for the FAR section of the CPA exam. 📚🎓

In her free time, Kale‘a loves hitting the gym, chilling at the beach, exploring new coffee shops, and finding treasures at thrift stores. Her favorite food is spicy ahi, and she’s a big fan of The Office. She also loves attending reggae concerts!

Born and raised in Mililani, Tanner Nekota graduated from the University of Hawaii in 2023 with a degree in accounting. He’s currently focused on completing his CPA testing and developing his professional skills. 📚🔍

In his free time, Tanner loves to cook, read, and spend time with friends. You might even find him experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen on the weekends. Tanner also has a new furry friend, Musubi, who’s recently joined his family! 🐶

Please welcome Titus Maunakea to the Accuity team! A Honolulu native, he graduated from Kamehameha Schools Kapālama and Olivet Nazarene University. He’s been studying hard for the CPA Exam this summer. 📚

When Titus isn’t hitting the books, you can find him catching waves at Sandy Beach or enjoying some friendly competition in disc golf. Fun fact: Titus is a self-taught bass guitarist! 🎸🎶

With the Paris Olympics in full swing, we can't help but reminisce on our very own Accuity Olympics a few years ago! Born and raised in Honolulu, Michelle holds a bachelor’s degree in management from Santa Clara University and MBA from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Her career as a business analyst spans more than two decades in the public sector.

When she’s not earning new business certifications (she already has 4!), she enjoys traveling with her son. Their latest adventures include seeing Sue the T-Rex at the Field Museum in Chicago, witnessing the OSIRIS-Rex launch at the Kennedy Space Center, and skiing in Yuzawa, Japan.

Congratulations to our very own Jacelyn Ho who competed in Miss Hawaii last weekend and placed second runner up. She also won the health and fitness phase award! We are so proud of you and your accomplishments at Accuity and in the community! Way to go ⭐

From July 1 - 5 all of Accuity will be on summer break! Our team will utilize next week to rest and recharge following the busy season. We look forward to serving our clients upon our return ☀️

We are excited to welcome Nolan to our firm as an IT associate! He’ll be providing us with the crucial technology support and innovation we need for smooth sailing. Born and raised in Mililani, Nolan attended Creighton University and spent eight years in Washington State.

When he’s not tinkering with the latest gadgets, you’ll find him carving the slopes🏂 tearing up the pickleball court or scaling bouldering walls. He recently embarked on a snowboard adventure to Sapporo, Japan. For those familiar with the Sapporo slopes, can you guess his favorite mountain? Let us know in the comments below! 🏔️🔽

Marisa was born and raised in Hawaii Kai and graduated from Kaiser High School. Now attending the University of Hawaii at Manoa, Marisa is an International Business, Accounting and Marketing major with a minor in Chinese and recently studied abroad in Taiwan!

In her free time, Marisa enjoys watching K-dramas, figure skating, painting, playing video games and going out to eat at dim sum and sushi restaurants with her friends.

Let's give a warm welcome to Erin Luz Pilande who joins our firm as a tax executive assistant!

Originally from the Philippines, Erin graduated from Farrington High School before earning a degree in psychology from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. From teaching special needs children to working in the real estate industry, Erin's career has given her a wealth of experience.

When she's not hard at work, you can find her eating hotpot, singing karaoke, playing farming simulation games like Coral Island and Stardew Valley or watching How I Met Your Mother or Criminal Minds. Erin's off duty activities also include working on new tricks with her Russian Blue mix cat, Viper. So far, he's mastered sitting, booping fingers with his nose and shaking hands with his paw!

This event brought together students and local business professionals for networking and scholarly awards. We were especially pleased to present our Outstanding Student in Accounting Award to Grace Toyama and are excited to welcome her as an audit intern this fall! We also caught up with a few of our incoming interns.

Erin Takamine, audit partner helped to present Grace’s award. Fun fact: A few years ago, Erin and her husband Matt established an endowed scholarship at Shidler, benefitting undergraduate students from public high schools who are pursuing degrees in accounting!

Hailing from South Korea, Jake journeyed across the Pacific to Hawaii, where he earned his Bachelor's degree in accounting from BYU–Hawaii.

When he's not crunching numbers, you'll find Jake indulging in a comedy or romance flick or savoring poke, sushi and BBQ. But there's more to Jake than accounting, movies and good food–he also enjoys learning languages, has dedicated two years to missionary work, and served 18 months in the South Korean army.
