Vitamin C is a mainstay for skin health and skincare. Importantly, antioxidants are necessary for neutralizing free radicals that form with UV light exposure, therefore exerting a photo-protective effect. Vitamin E potentiates the action of Vitamin C four-fold. Adding in ferulic acid increases the efficacy of Vitamin C eight-fold. This triple combination reduces acute and chronic photodamage, hyperpigmentation and signs of aging skin. L-Ascorbic acid is the active form of Vit C delivered topically to skin in a stabilized form and is found in many formulations alone or combined with Vitamin E/ Ferulic acid.
