Customers have the opportunity to choose an ornament, purchase the gift on the back, and let the store gather the items for Benzie County Seniors. What a treat! Benzie Senior Resources will send the items out along with their annual holiday gift bags.

We'd like to thank Damon Tondu (shown with Doug) and Ruth Paris of West Shore Bank (Frankfort Location) for organizing this collection of items for this year's Senior Holiday Bags. Volunteers will be packing the bags in a few weeks, to deliver to over 250 homebound seniors. In some cases, these gift bags are the only acknowledgement these folks will receive. The bank branch also collected financial donations for the project, which will be matched by West Shore Bank. This effort will be joined by several area churches in bringing these gifts to Benzie County seniors!

Did you know that over 50% of people over the age of 60 report suffering from isolation? Benzie Senior Resources works to combat isolation and loneliness by offering congregate meals, a varied assortment of programs, special events, and wellness activities at their Senior Center in Honor.

We are seeking a Part-Time Senior Center Assistant to:
• Develop caring friendships with our Senior Center Guests
• Plan, coordinate and carry out Senior Center seasonal, holiday and special event decorations
• Assist the Senior Center Director with activities and wellness programs
• Establish, maintain and supervise an active network of community volunteers

Attributes we are seeking for this position:
• Fondness of and empathy for senior citizens
• Positivity, enthusiasm
• Strong organizational skills
• Computer literacy
• Attitude of Teamwork

Details: Job is three days per week, located at The Gathering Place (next to Papa J’s) at 10579 Main St. Honor (occasional additional hours). Benzie Senior Resources offers a part-time employees a
competitive wage, paid holidays and time off, matching 401K pension plan, and life insurance.

Santa wants everyone to know that there is a Toys for Tots collection bin at The Gathering Place. It's helpful if items are wrapped and labled boy or girl (if gender specific) with the suggested age of the child. Items for teens are always especially needed!
