The Houston Arboretum is a great public resource, free to all, in the middle of Houston. We try a make it there at least once a week to be with Nature and decompress. Here is the air quality map recorded by one of our Air Champion - Citizen Scientists Personal Pollution Monitors (PPM). I always carry a PPM on my belt. It was a great air quality day at the Arboretum!

AccuWeather has entered into a formal agreement with Plume Labs to aggregate worldwide air quality sensor data and historical weather information via powerful artificial intelligence to predict the quality of the air five days into the future.

Fact: Houston Texas has poor Air Quality, especially in our at risk communities located along our Ship Channel.
McMac Cx, a Sustainable Best Practices Facilitation and Performance Outcome Auditing firm has partnered with Plume Labs, an Environmental Tech Company to launch our Air Champions - Citizen Scientists initiative today.
Our initiative was conceived, pre-pandemic, as a pathway for deployment of advanced Social Tech - Personal Pollution Monitors (PPM) that would allow Houston area Citizens to personally internalize the burdens they were being forced to carry due to poor regulations and even worse enforcement.
Our mission has changed slightly. We are experiencing the best Houston Air Quality in decades. We are experiencing what the Air Champions initiative had hoped, but not thought immediately possible. We now know what we can achieve, albeit not in the method anyone would have wished.
Our original goal to arm 1,000 Houston Citizens with PPM by the end of 2020 was ambitious. Our goal now is even more urgent. We do not want to lose the benefit of the Air Quality we are now experiencing. Rapid deployment of PPM by passionate Houston Citizens, provides hyper-local air quality data of the places we live, learn, work and play. This information will provide the substantiation needed when communicating with community and business leaders. Better decisions can be made when we have data that can immediately prove good or bad performance outcomes.
