I'm RUNNING FOR Texas House District 129 to stop growing pollution!!

In Bay Area Houston, step outside THIS MORNING and breathe in the sickening odor of petrochemicals. THIS is one of the reasons I am running to represent Bay Area residents. We are sick and tired of the growing releases of toxic chemicals.

We MUST force the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality/TCEQ to protect our families instead of being a rubber stamp for ever-increasing air and water pollution!

We need more town hall meetings like those I organized several years ago.

Our next showing is Thursday, April 1st, at 7pm! We'll be showing three environmental shorts. Have you registered yet?

Featured Short Film - Forget Shorter Showers (2015)

"Would any sane person think dumpster diving would have stopped Hi**er, or that composting would have ended slavery or brought about the eight-hour workday; or that chopping wood and carrying water would have gotten people out of Tsarist prisons; or that dancing around a fire would have helped put in place the Voting Rights Act of 1957 or the Civil Rights Act of 1964?

Then why now, with all the world at stake, do so many people retreat into these entirely personal “solutions”? Why are these “solutions” not sufficient? But most importantly, what can be done instead to actually stop the murder of the planet?"

Get to Know Our Team!

Hello all, my name is Alex Boyce! I’m the Team Leader and project manager for the Environment2Action Film Series grant team.

Originally from NH, I moved to Houston last January with my husband and our two dogs. I’m a houseplant enthusiast and rock climber, and feel very fortunate to have joined the wonderful Houston Sierra Club community as the chapter’s Volunteer Coordinator in the fall of 2020.

My passion for the environment began on an environmental peacebuilding expedition to the Balkans region in 2013. That inspiring educational opportunity led me to pursue a Master’s degree in Environmental Studies from Ohio University.

As we prepare to launch the Environment2Action Film Series, I’m excited to help grow grassroots leadership in Houston and to motivate others to take action on environmental issues within their communities. I hope to see you at one of our virtual screenings!
