Mom's favorite place for lunch in Houston was The French House on Westheimer and Fountainview. Not even sure if it is still there. I made a big deal of taking her to lunch there one day, and looking back now, I now understand her confusion. It was like she had never been there and was meeting the owner for the first time. One of many small signs that added up to the big picture - Alzheimer's.
