HCC Northeast Honors College recently hosted an orientation for returning and new Honors College students. We can not wait to see all of the hard work each of these students will accomplish as they embark on an exciting academic journey filled with opportunities for growth, learning, and success.

HCC Northeast's new and returning students joined the college at the first of two registration fairs. Hosted at the North Forest Campus, attendees signed up for a scholarship opportunity, received help with registration, learned about career pathways, and walked away with HCC swag! Students and parents also received backpacks and school supplies provided by President Dr. Michael Edwards. Kudos to the HCC Northeast team for creating a fun and exciting experience focused on student success.

Congrats to Los Gomez on the successful completion of the HCC Commercial Truck Driving program! We enjoy seeing our students fulfill their goals and achieve success.

Thank you to United Way of Greater Houston for inviting HCC Northeast to participate in the Interagency Showcase yesterday. It was a great opportunity to speak with community members and organizations about the programs that we have to offer for residents all over Houston.

HCC Northeast enjoyed being in the community today at the Sam Houston High School Back to School Event. Sharing information about programs and engaging with the community was a fantastic opportunity to connect and support local students and families. It was great to collaborate with McDonald's and the Harris County Sheriff's Office this week for the Back to School Community Event. HCC Northeast is out in the community sharing information about programs and registration.

Are you on a career path for a biology or pre-medical transferable degree? HCC Northeast is now offering a new Weekend College focused on biology and pre-med majors at the Northline Campus. The cohort program is offered on Saturdays.

Program Highlights
• Weekend College includes Summer
• Small Classes
• 8-Week Hybrid Model
• Lunch Break (12 noon - 12:50 p.m.)
• Tutors available all-day
• Student Services available on Saturdays
• Minimum credits required: 60 credit hours
• Credits needed for graduation: 62 credit hours

This Health, Safety and Environmental course is fairly new and is a first of its kind as a Continuing Education offering. The unique aspect of this course is the 3 transferable credits student will receive after successful completion and it is only a 3-week course! Classes are offered at 2 locations, the Northeast campus and Stafford.

HCC Northeast and President Dr. Michael Edwards are proud to support community efforts during a time of need. The North Forest Campus was the host location in collaboration with State Representative Senfronia Thompson, HCC District II Trustee Charlene Ward Johnson, H-E-B, and Precinct 3 for distributing dry goods, 400 hot meals, and water to northeast community members impacted by Hurricane Beryl and ongoing power outages.
