ABOUT RE-OPENING THE FELDENKRAIS CENTER OF HOUSTON

Thank you for asking! It's extremely gratifying to hear from so many clients and students who value the time spent in-person, at my office. I miss everyone terribly, and am eager to see you as soon as it is safe.

I'm doing my best to keep up-to-date with the statistics and trends, and recommendations from scientific and health-care experts. I've also been following recommendations from other professionals in similar work settings (massage and bodywork, universities, music studios) about how to prepare for re-opening. My decision as of May 1 is that I will continue all my services online for at least another two weeks.

My office space is clean and fresh, my linens are laundered conscientiously, and my office building has stringent sanitation practices in place. However, in good conscience, I can't guarantee absolutely safe and sterile conditions in my office. Therefore, I can't guarantee your safety - nor mine. You know my office is more like a living room - so, if I'm not inviting you to come to my home, I probably shouldn't see you at my office, either. Therefore, since I do have the option to work remotely, I think it's the only responsible and ethical way forward.

Thank you for sticking with me, and with your personal practices of movement and awareness. Updates will appear here on the page, as well as on the Feldenkrais Center of Houston website.

Whelp, my office is closed and I'm at home for all but essential errands. HOWEVER -- Feldenkrais life goes on via ZOOM!
I could use your help. Last week, I offered a free Virtual Happy Hour on Friday at 4 pm CDT to members of my Posture Challenge course - and they loved it! I also hosted a free Virtual Brunch on Saturday at 11 a.m. CDT - also a lot of fun.
I've created a Doodle poll so you can let me know which one is the best time for you.
There's one other question: whether you need this to be a free class, or if you'd be willing to do a "pay what you can" option.
Think about it. The show must go on, and on it WILL go.

Join me on Saturday for some much-needed stress relief and human connection (separately) for a bit of fun and self-nurturing movement.
In the lesson, you will experience movements that build resilience and resourcefulness, while creating both comfort and a sense of generosity and hopefulness.
You'll need to prepare a space on the floor with a mat or blanket to lie upon, and a bit of "clearance space" around you. Most of the lesson is done in a side-lying position, so have a few folded towels nearby as well for head support.
It's also a "Virtual Brunch," so muffins and mimosas are optional. . . 😎🥂🥐 (apparently there is not a muffin emoji)
Pajamas are permitted - be comfortable.

Hi, folks -- MaryBeth here. We postponed today's workshop at Studio NiaMoves and it feels like the right thing. People are distracted and still figuring out how to reorganize their lives if this national health emergency lasts very long.
For the rest of my practice, I'm in "wait and see" mode. I am prepared to teach all group classes via Zoom, and many of my clients can easily transition to video lessons for awhile. Some will still need to come to my studio, and we'll take each day as it comes.
IN THE MEANTIME -- you may know that I'm teaching an online mini-course, the 7-Day Posture Transformation Challenge. It's 15 minutes a day divided into 4 segments, so you don't even have to do the 15 minutes consecutively! People don't usually link the words "Posture" and "Fun," but I think I've created something you'll really enjoy -- especially if you're stuck at home, considering your next move.
