For those that celebrate Easter it will be one like we’ve never known. I’m clinging tight to family traditions-dress up, egg hunt, & big Easter brunch next Sunday. When I saw this top and skirt months ago at market I knew it would be my Easter outfit and even though the world is very different right now with so much out of my control, I can control getting dressed for the occasion like I normally would. 😊 Tonight, I pray for the day that we can all gather with friends and family for holidays and celebrations again. 💗

Yesterday, I took Jack to a social distancing birthday party. What a strange sentence that is now a reality for us. It was my first time driving my car in two weeks. And it was so simple yet magical-simply drove by a friends’ house to honk and sing happy birthday from our car! It felt so good to see friends and have somewhere to go!😅It’s crazy thinking back just two weeks ago I spent as much time in my car as my house-one kid with an hour round trip school commute and two kids with activities-living that carpool life. I complained about being a school bus driver and my t**h being sore from driving so much🤣 It’s funny how when something is taken away from you, you realize maybe it wasn’t all that bad. 😉 On the flip side, being stuck in our houses with only our nuclear families is exhausting at times-sorry these people are my whole heart but it’s a lot! 😁But I have a feeling when we do return to normal fast paced lives again, I’ll miss this time with just us. I’ve been so high and low this week, but today I’m not looking back wishing for our pre-quarantine life and not looking forward wondering how many more days of this, I’m just going be here, now, knowing that no matter what we will always remember this period of time (hopefully it’s a fast blink)and that the memories are happy ones. 💗

Missing my old routine, which I’m realizing involved a lot of local restaurants. Lattes , Popeye smoothies at and Sunday brunch at . The new normal has been a challenge so far balancing kids, housework and dividing work at home time with my husband. I’ve spiraled a lot and been very high and low this past week and the only thing keeping me sane is daily exercise (not my norm), tea time with my girls and records (and wine) at 5. How are y’all holding up out there? I realize staying home is a small sacrifice to flatten this curve, but it’s still not a walk in the park. Would love to hear what y’all are doing to find joy in the daily st home routine. 😊

Even though it’s hard to differentiate weekdays vs. weekend right now I’m holding true to old traditions to stay sane. Sunday supper is one of them. My entire family showered (!) and put on non-exercise/play clothes and it felt so good even though we didn’t leave the house! I encourage y’all to find little slices of normalcy during this very uncertain, unprecedented time. A lot of joy will come from it, perhaps more than ever before. 😉
