With July 4 right around the corner, you're probably in full party planning mode. We would like to take this opportunity to remind all of you to keep your pets in mind when it comes to fireworks. Bring them inside (even a well vented garage is better than the yard). We would like this to be a happy and safe July 4th for everyone, so please take every possible opportunity to keep your pets safe!

Community Outreach Post!
We received a plea from an individual who was being evicted and had no place for his Shepherds. ADORE stepped in to help this gentleman out before his dogs were brought to a shelter.
While they were at our vet Memorial Villages Animal Hospital for vaccinations, we noticed they did have pretty bad ear infections that needed treatment! We were able to get both Shepherds the care they needed and they are safely at one of the boarding facilities we work with for some time until the gentleman can get back on his feet. One Shepherd is fixed, but we are hoping the owner agrees to let us fix his other dog as well! We stress the importance of spaying and neutering all animals in the home and will continue to help put an end to the overpopulation crisis!
If you would like to donate towards Dax and Lily’s care, you can do so directly on this post- or by visiting our website www.adorehouston.org/donate-now/
TEMPORARY FOSTERS NEEDED DUE TO DAMAGE FROM THE TORNADO-LIKE WINDS.
We have lost many of our foster homes over the years, and work with very few fosters currently. One of our current fosters unfortunately had 2 large pine trees come down on their home/fencing, and we have rushed to get everyone out to boarding due to the emergency situation. No dogs or humans were injured, but the fence is destroyed with little progress being made to repair it.
We’re looking for temporary foster homes for the pups below. Our best guess is for 1-2 weeks (but we can be flexible with a foster). We can provide crates and food for each dog- as well as matching which dog might do better in a potential foster’s situation to ensure a better fit.
Any donations towards their boarding would also be greatly appreciated!
Here is basic info for each dog. Please email us at [email protected] if you could help temporarily foster one of these babies!
Peach- spayed female, 4 years old, weighs about 65 lbs.
Max- neutered male, 5 years old, weighs about 80 lbs. Max is currently going through heartworm treatment and will need to be in his crate resting when he is not outside for potty time!
Sampson- neutered male, 12 years old, weighs about 55 lbs.
Ollie- neutered male, 2 years old, weighs about 52 lbs.

Dumped in a ditch in the middle of the night. The years of abuse and neglect have taken their toll and weakened this precious girl's body and spirit. This German Shepherd girl was not even 40lbs, mere skin and bones with hind legs so weak she still struggles to stand or walk. Her ears are in such terrible shape that we are not certain if they were cut by a person or if they have been mangled from insects eating them.
Our friends Houston Dog Ranch rescued her and made sure she was safe while the animal welfare community rallied and offered their support to save her life. Houston PetSet stepped up to cover her initial vetting and care while Dr. Hanna and her team Houston Spay Neuter got her into their clinic right away for medical evaluation and treatment. Our friends at St. Francis Angels are currently caring for her but we hope someone will come forward to be a foster and hero for this beautiful soul. ADORE will continue to cover her medical expenses and she will receive care from Dr. Lucy Faulkner, Dr. Tamika Spellman, and the team at Memorial Villages Animal Hospital.
We have named this sweet girl Lana and many of our friends have come together to be the light for her and make certain she begins her journey on the long road to recovery. We would love to get her into a home for this anticipated journey of recovery from her physical and mental wounds. How defeated Lana must feel. However, we think her story of resilience and rehabilitation is one to follow. We are grateful for all of our friends that came together to save Lana. Collaboration is the key to saving many more precious lives. If you cannot foster or adopt Lana, perhaps consider making a donation to her care or sending items from our Amazon Wishlist here.

Daisy is thriving in her foster home 💖
Our senior girl is still up for adoption and she is doing so well in her new foster home! Daisy is roughly estimated to be about 12 years old and she weighs about 14 lbs. She is a Cocker Spaniel/Poodle mix. Our senior dogs get the least amount of attention, but offer so much love. Daisy’s foster mom reported that she has much more energy now that she’s settled in and happy!

We are hoping to find a foster for this adorable little guy who was rescued over a week ago and the finder could not locate any owners.
This adorable Terrier mix is about 3 months old. Once we locate a foster home we will set up a vet visit to get his puppy vaccines started!
His finder notes that he is doing great with crate training and working on his potty training. He is very cuddly and playful as well. He’s doing well with their 50 lbs dog and with his age- he would be good with cats.
If you can foster, or adopt- email us at [email protected]
Max is enjoying this fine weather we are having ☀️
Max is still searching for his forever home. This big guy does GREAT with dogs of all sizes. He loves people and would do great with kids. He’s pretty easy going, does great on a leash, and is mastering commands like a pro.
Max is easy going and happy-go-lucky in nature. We are hoping his forever home is right around the corner!
Max is about 4 years old and weighs about 82 lbs. He is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped.
Email us at [email protected] if you might be interested in adopting or fostering Max!
Miracle is recovering from her amputation, and is feeling better already!
Thank you so much to everyone who has donated. We were able to raise enough to cover the x ray expenses and all of her antibiotics and pain meds as well!!
Thank you Houston Spay Neuter for taking care of her and to her foster dad for helping her through this ❤️ Rescue does take a village!
This is absolutely FANTASTIC news! Houston Petland Bellaire is NO LONGER SELLING PUPPIES.
Great work from Texas Humane Legislation Network (THLN) and BARC Animal Shelter & Adoptions and the numerous fellow animal advocates who helped to make a difference in Houston. This is just the beginning to
🚨BREAKING NEWS: After numerous citations by BARC Animal Shelter & Adoptions and complaints by animal advocates using their voices, Houston Petland Bellaire is NO LONGER SELLING PUPPIES!
Thank you to BARC Houston and BARC Director Jarrad Mears! As of March 2, 2024, BARC issued 113 citations to Petland Bellaire, with thousands of dollars in fines, and BARC never gave up on enforcing the ordinance despite Petland Bellaire’s blatant disregard for it.
As we celebrate this victory, other locations, such as Petland Katy, The Woodlands, and Webster, are full of puppies. If we do not pass a statewide law, puppy-selling pet stores will continue to pop up throughout the state.
Please go to thln.org/join and help us pass a statewide Humane Pet Store Law in 2025!

Roxen had a blast meeting kiddos!
This amazing Rottie/Husky girl loves meeting people and does great around kids who are used to being around large dogs. Face kisses are inbound 😅
Roxen is still available for adoption and is a low energy girl. She’s about 4.5-5 years old now and is one of the easiest dogs in the foster home to take care of. She would do best as the only animal in the home, but she is trustworthy loose in the house- never having an accident or chewing anything. Rox is about 85 lbs of love and ready for cuddle time!
Roxen is spayed, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and heartworm negative.

Joey is ready for his forever home!
This adorable little guy is about 1 year old and weighs 8.8 lbs. He was surrendered to Adore after his family explained they don’t have time for him anymore.
Joey was neutered yesterday and is ready to go now. We believe he is a Shih Tzu/Chihuahua mix. He’s a friendly and happy little guy. He does great with other dogs and doesn’t bother them. The vet staff absolutely love him and told us he loves to play with his toys.
Joey is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and heartworm negative as well.
We encourage any interested adopters to submit their applications ASAP since we anticipate this handsome boy will get a bit of attention! The link is www.adorehouston.org/adoption-application/

We were able to save Mars from the streets, but we still need a foster home!!
Our team has not stopped thinking about him, despite not getting any foster offers. Ultimately, our director made the call for our team to go out there and save him after reports were that multiple stray dogs in the area were hit by cars and sadly have passed away. He came right to us with the help of an amazing business owner in the area who has been feeding and looking after him.
Mars was fully vaccinated (tested heartworm positive) and taken to one of the boarding facilities that we work with where he is SAFE and getting the love he deserves. Mars will be neutered soon and then will be undergoing heartworm treatment after recovery.
He is about 2 years old and weighs 50 lbs. He loves people and will lean against the legs of anyone standing still. He is being introduced to a leash and crate and we will continue with positively reinforcing these. Once he starts walking (after some coaxing) he walks right by your side without pulling. We believe he will be dog friendly, but will officially test him soon.
Email us at [email protected] if you are interested in fostering or adopting this sweet, beautiful boy!
We are desperate to rescue this poor guy who was dumped by his owner. The gas station employees stated a truck pulled up and left without this guy. He has been camped out there waiting for their return for weeks.
This beautiful red boy is friendly and we are ready to intake him with a foster. We can provide the foster with a crate, food, and a leash. He will first go to our vet for all vaccines, capstar, and any treatment first before going into a home! He will be neutered at a later date. He is estimated to be about 40 lbs.
If you can help us save him, please fill out a foster application at www.adorehouston.org/foster-application/
We hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving!! 🦃

Foster needed for a dog friendly Husky!
The Adore team was contacted early Wednesday morning by the hotel staff that had found Hampton (our little girl from a few weeks ago) to inform us that they trapped a sweet Husky in their pool area to get him away from the highway. Once they heard we were on our way, they brought him inside where he met a hotel guest’s Pitbull and they began to play in the lobby! So we do know he is playful and dog friendly!
We were very fortunate that one of our vets had space for him to come in, but starting November 15th he will need a foster! We did not find a microchip and have named him Zero. He has already received his vaccines and dewormer, but we just found out he is heartworm positive. He will be neutered before starting fast kill heartworm treatment.
Zero is very affectionate and loves to give gentle hugs. He is working on leash walking already- sometimes he walks perfectly next to you, but if he gets scared he does lay down. He was a perfect gentleman while waiting at the vet and will find a spot to lay down near you.
He is about 1.5-2 years old and weighs 49 lbs. If you might be able to foster him, please email [email protected]
Feral cat at death’s door begs to be rescued 🥹
While we are a dog only rescue- every once in a while a cat or kitten come our way and we do the best we can with helping all animals. Tipsy made it nearly impossible to not help her. This sweet feral cat (which we now know she is absolutely not feral anymore) wandered up to a ranch near San Antonio and made it all the way to her 11 year old rescuer 🩷
Tipsy was at deaths door-emaciated, sniffling and sneezing, barely able to stay up for long periods of time, dehydrated- and she used her strength to solicit some love and attention in hopes of getting some food in return. Luckily for her, she picked the right family. Tipsy let her rescuer pick her up and she was transported to our vet Memorial Villages Animal Hospital.
Tipsy needed immediate action that the MVAH team has been providing for her daily, and our bills are adding up. She has received countless founds of dewormer and antibiotics to treat the many intestinal worms and lice she had attacking her body. She has been receiving antibiotics and steroids as well as fluids to help her gain back her weight and strength. She has an upper respiratory infection that she still has not fully recovered from- but she is already doing much better.
Through all of this, Tipsy has been extremely cooperative and loves the attention she gets. She chirps now when she hears the staff members and takes all the love they’re willing to give her. We are looking for a foster soon- she will be spayed as soon as they deem she is healthy enough. She was negative on her FIV/FeLV combo test as well!
If you are able to donate towards this sweet baby, that would be amazing. Our invoice has passed $1,000 for her so far and we really need your help! Payments can also be made directly to our ADORE account at Memorial Villages Animal Hospital.
ATTENTION HUSKY LOVERS!!!📣📣📣📣📣📣

Jasper is ready for a foster or adopter! Jasper was recently surrendered after his owner had to move in with her father and the Dobermans in the home did not accept him- putting Jasper in danger. We have taken him in and he has fully recovered from his neuter.
Jasper is 80 lbs of love and most of the time is just a happy, gentle giant. He loves car rides and every staff member at our vet absolutely loves him as well.
Jasper is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and heartworm negative.

🚨Fluff alert🚨
Lola was rescued by her foster mom a few weeks ago after they believe her owners moved and left her there. They have not been able to locate any owners and soon reached out to us to get this sweet baby healthy. She was sick when she was first rescued and brought to our vet to receive fluids. We suspect she may have been bitten by something. After she was treated for her fleas, as well as given fluids and dewormer, she started to feel much better. She made a full recovery and is doing great!
Lola is about 1 year old and weighs 10.6 lbs. She is dog friendly, cat friendly, and kid friendly. She walks well on a leash and is house trained as well.
This girl has been spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped at our vet this week and Lola is ready for her forever home! Her foster said she is already trying to zoom around the apartment lol.
