We love to have our current Houston Christian University students seeing our HCU COSE alumni at work!
Ivan Perez (HCU Biochemistry/Molecular Biology freshman) and Geetanjali Nair Sabu (HCU Nursing sophomore) visited Hope Biosciences as part of the National Institute for Innovation in Manufacturing Biopharmaceuticals (NIIMBL) eXperience (National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST)).
While visiting Hope Biosciences, Ivan and Geetanjali met HCU Biology alumnus, Kristian Ruiz (BCMB '20), who is a Quality Control Technician at Hope Biosciences.
Graduate Spotlight: Kaley Feris '23
Kaley graduated in Fall 2023 with a B.S. in Biology and played Volleyball for our Huskies. She is starting Physical Therapy graduate school!
She enjoyed that she was able to play volleyball and pursue a Biology degree at HCU and her favorite thing about COSE is the professors. She appreciated their encouragement, intelligence, and how they want the best for each student. She wouldn't be where she is now without the support of her COSE professors.

Over the summer we are highlighting our recent graduates. Reach out to us if you want to share your favorite memories of HCU and what you are doing now.
John Fallows, '23, graduated from HCU in Fall 2023 with a B.S. in Mathematics. He was a member of the Robotics & Esports Organization (REO) and is seeking a career as a Data Analyst and Actuary.
What he enjoyed most about HCU:
"All the professors are willing to commit their fair share of time to help students out. Some come with questions over assignment help, some over catching up on the lectures, some over concerns with their beliefs in religion, etcetera. Whatever the reason may be, the professors are there to help."
What he enjoyed most about COSE:
"Especially in the upper-level courses, the nature of this university being a private university really comes to shine. Throughout the entire class, you get to work on various projects and presentations with a small group, allowing you to connect closely with your other group members and, of course, the professor."
Thank you to all of those who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms. We are forever indebted to you and to your loved ones who grieve your loss.

Ms. Sophia Stenkamp had the privilege of working with MD Anderson's veterinary Discover program for the past two years. Recently, she submitted an abstract from her work last summer and was thrilled to be invited to attend the American College of Veterinary Pathologists conference in Chicago. To her surprise, she won second place in the Experimental Pathology division with her abstract and poster titled "A Ray Hepatocellular Carcinoma model for investigating molecular phenotypes associated with tumor stiffness." Even more exciting, she was selected as one of only 10 abstracts out of 91 to present her work to a panel of veterinarians and other professionals. It was an incredible opportunity to share her passion for veterinary medicine with like-minded individuals.
We are extremely proud of students like Ms. Sophia Stenkamp who seize every opportunity that comes their way. Their success reflects their dedication and commitment to their studies and serves as a reminder of the endless possibilities that await those who work hard and pursue their dreams.
So, as we celebrate Ms. Sophia Stenkamp accomplishments, let us also celebrate the many other students whose COSE courses have paved the way for their own extraordinary journeys. Let us continue to support and nurture their passions, knowing that they have the potential to make a profound impact on the world around them.
Every year, the Computer Science and Cybersecurity Faculty comes together to embrace a thrilling theme that revolves around the world of cybersecurity. This time, we decided to take on the roles of the formidable blue team, led by the brilliant Dr. Mardinig, and the crafty red team, under the guidance of Dr. Zaki.
Our mission? To protect ourselves against the notorious black hat hackers, Dr. Marchesini and Mr. Leonares, as well as the elusive grey hat hackers, Dr. Joshuva. Together, we stood united, defending against the dangers lurking on the dark web, with the expertise of the ever-vigilant Dr. Lyford.
