The Board of Veterans' Appeals has granted a client's claim for a disabling skin condition that the Veteran has suffered from since service. After many hospitalizations due to this condition, the Veteran is elated to finally start receiving monthly compensation for this disability.
These figures aren't confirmed but appear to be the proposed disability rating compensation increases for 2025.

Great day for a client granted an earlier effective date for his PTSD benefits. Never trust VA to get it right. You always want to review and ensure any decisions made are accurate on effective dates and ratings assigned. In this instance, a review showed that VA had missed 9 years of benefits owned the Veteran.
Benefits granted for a client that suffered a back injury with bilateral lower extremity radiculopathy on active duty ultimately requiring surgical repair.
Excited to share that we have favorably concluded 3 appeals at the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims by way of Joint Motions for Remands, which are agreements reached between the parties and approved by the court sending claims back to the Board with instructions highlighting errors made that the Board needs to rectify before again adjudicating claims it previously denied. These three appeals involved bilateral hearing loss, a bilateral hip disability and a right leg disability.
We have been able to favorably conclude cases for three veterans this week. At the Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims, two clients reached early remand agreements- one for a prostate disability and the other to reopen a back disability.
At the agency, VA granted a client's claim for COPD and chronic bronchitis.
An early settlement was reached at the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims for a veteran seeking benefits for kidney disease stemming for contaminated water exposure at Camp Lejeune.
Today, another veteran was granted service connection for tinnitus.
Benefits increased! A client was granted an increased rating for his left ankle injury and was also granted service connection for bilateral hearing loss.

Favorable decision out of the Board of Veterans' Appeals today- The Board granted an earlier effective date for our client's PTSD.
VA had granted service connection for sleep apnea to a burn pit exposed Veteran. We quickly realized VA had gotten the effective date wrong, so we filed an appeal and today obtained a favorable decision granting an earlier effective date. This time, VA got it right.
VA granted service connection for bilateral hearing loss and tinnitus for two separate clients this week, while also securing PTSD benefits for a 3rd client.

2 recent wins for our clients! After fighting for years, we were able to finally obtain the correct rating for a veteran's sarcoidosis.
The other case involved having VA finally grant and acknowledge that the cause of the veteran's death was due to radiation exposure.

Things are off to a great start for clients here at Fortis Law. We were able to get service connection benefits granted for a client suffering from diverticulitis. For another client, we were able to get an earlier effective date granted for TDIU benefits!
Two appeals have been successfully concluded at the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims.
In one case, the Court issued a decision in favor of a client involving negligence that occurred during a 2008 surgery at a VA hospital.
In the other case, we reached an early agreement with the Office of General Counsel on a case involving a Veteran's right knee injury.
Service connection benefits were granted for a client suffering from a debilitating back disability.

In another case, we reached an early resolution agreement with the Office of General Counsel for a client seeking benefits for diabetes.
The U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims issued a decision ruling in favor of our client seeking a higher rating for his back disability. We also reached an early resolution with the Office of General Counsel for another client seeking benefits for multiple joints, ENT and GI disabilities.

Benefits granted! A client was granted service connection for major depressive disorder with associated alcohol and drug abuse. While willful misconduct cannot be service connected, alcohol and drug abuse caused by a service-related psychiatric disorder qualifies for benefits.
