Imagine you're in your cozy bed with your spouse, coffee to the side and together you hear the voice messages from guests. The messages can be anything from marriage advice to a special memory with you or their favorite part of your wedding.

Completely agree! It took me way too long to figure this out.

As a photog I get these requests to photoshop wrinkles or bodies, facial blemishes etc. My rule of thumb is I can soften or edit things that are temporary [rashes, acne etc], but after graduate school I created a firm stance against body manipulation editing
When you ask for a photog to 'thin' ur arms, 'rid' ur double chin or 'blur' ur wrinkles, you are doing a disservice to yourself.
Not only are you going to get images back that aren't you in your full truth image, you will also take these images moving forward as comparison.

At ages 18-28 I edited my body, face, etc. When I look back at those images I dont really know what I really looked like. I did it out of the trend allowing us online to do it, but also because I was wrapped up in the idea of what 'beauty' was from a social standard. The truth is I am fighting an image of me that was never real. By editing ourselves we create ANOTHER layer of unreachable comparison within ourselves.

Aging is beautiful, not all of us get to age. Some of us are taken too young to gain those wrinkles. Weight is a constructed cage placed onto us by society - all sizes are worth being documented. YOU are allowed to exist, in life and in photographs AS YOU ARE.
