The Rare Monday thru Friday Serving position with NO Late Nights. While currently Lunch only we are reopening for dinner in the near future and need to build our team. We are located adjacent to The Redstone Arsenal. We provide a full service restaurant experience and banquet service as well. We are seeking to build our team as we prepare to ramp up as everyone returns to The Arsenal.

Sells items from the menu and serves food & beverages to guests in the restaurant and cocktail area. Responsible for all aspects of professional food service, guest satisfaction and over all cleanliness of Rocket City Tavern and Redstone gateway Conference Center

Essential functions: Must be willing and able to:

· Accurately account for and balance all sales and receipts

· Communicate clearly with the kitchen both verbally and utilizing the POS system.

· Communicate effectively with co-workers

· Complete all side work when and as assigned

· Present and encourage current promotional information and materials to guest

· Accurately account for all guest checks issued

· Accurately record and account for all items ordered and served

· Accurately accept payment from guest

· Perform calmly and effectively under pressure

· Communicate with guest clearly, patiently, courteously, and with good humor

· Perform varied duties to ensure all aspects of service according to standard operating procedure

· Communicate problems to management immediately

Accountabilities: Must be willing and able to:

· Be an active team player

· Follow supervisor’s instructions

· Perform under more than average stressful conditions

· Make appropriate judgment calls under stressful condition

· Maintain clean and orderly work area throughout shift and leave it ready for the following shift

· Maintain a well-manicured appearance and persona that reflects the established image of the restaurant

Qualifications Standards:

Job Description:
Supervise dining associates as well as oversee and assist in the daily operations of our dining room. Manage traffic flow and balance the serving responsibilities among the servers. Must be able to maintain a customer focused attitude at all times.
The following duties are normal for this position. This list is not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
• Maintains visibility during mealtimes by helping to seat and greet guests, address any concerns, and ensure that their needs have been met.
• Responds to and resolves any guest complaints regarding their experience.
• Schedules and assigns tasks to wait staff, including assigning of tables and side and closing duties.
• Directs and monitors wait staff, including, uniform and personal appearance, customer service, and proper food handling techniques.
• Trains wait staff on all operating procedures and menu education.
• Assists with orientation and training of new Dining Room staff.
• Practices all safety and loss prevention procedures.
• Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Must have the following education and work experience to be considered:
• High school diploma or equivalent.

The Restaurants at Redstone Gateway are looking for a professional Sous Chef to be the second-in-command in our kitchens, following Executive Chef Michael’s specifications and guidelines. The successful candidate will employ his/her culinary and managerial skills in order to play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing our customers’ satisfaction. This rare opportunity in the restaurant world is primarily Monday through Friday with no late nights.

Responsibilities

This is a "hands-on" cooking position, in addition to managerial responsibilities
Help in the preparation and design of all food menus
Produce high quality plates both design and taste wise
Ensure that the kitchens operate in a timely way and meets our quality standards
Fill in for the Executive Chef in planning and directing food preparation when necessary
Resourcefully solve any issues that arise and seize control of any problematic situation(s)
Manage and train kitchen staff, establish working schedule, and assess staffs’ performances
Order supplies to stock inventory appropriately
Comply with and enforce sanitation regulations and safety standards
Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers

Skills

Proven experience as a Sous Chef
Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
Excellent record of kitchen and staff management
Accuracy and speed in handling emergency situations and providing solutions
Familiarity with industry’s best practices
Serve Safe Certified
Ability to stand and move for long periods of time
Ability to lift 50 lbs as needed
