The HCS Child Nutrition Program participated in the Community Awareness For Youth (C.A.F.Y.) Back to School Bash Event held at Calhoun Community College this past Saturday. During this occasion we took the opportunity to provide Huntsville community members with pertinent information regarding school meals and to answer any questions from parents and students. This was a fun occasion and we enjoyed being a part of it. Huntsville City Schools C.A.F.Y.

We would like to thank all of the young people who participated in the 2024 Summer Food Service Program. We also want to show great appreciation for our entire CNP summer staff and all of the Huntsville City School faculty and staff members who assisted in making this year’s program possible. We took the opportunity to celebrate and thank our hard working staff for a great and successful 2023 - 2024 school year. This year’s event theme was Mardi Gras and the celebration was shared by all child nutrition program staff. We went to wish them a happy summer and we appreciate them for all that they do!

School Lunch Hero Day was such a great success at Huntsville City Schools. We greatly appreciate the support and the Child Nutrition Program employee celebrations that was well received from school site administrators and faculty. Many HCS personnel showed their Child Nutrition Program staff just how important and beloved that they are. This special occasion had many unforgettable moments and highlights and we wanted to share those with all of you!

This nationwide celebration presents a spotlight on the people who have one of the most important jobs on the planet which is feeding school children. Today we honor them and the hard work that they do each day to impact the lives of students.

What’s for lunch today at Huntsville City Schools? Oven roasted chicken, steamed broccoli, baked cut sweet potatoes(yams), whole grain dinner roll, whole fresh oranges, and fat free milk.

On Friday March 12th our Lakewood Elementary CNP Supervisor, Mrs. Emily Battle celebrated her birthday. We want to wish her a very Happy Birthday and many more to come!

It’s “Casual Friday” in the Child Nutrition Program at Huntsville City Schools. The CNP staff at Columbia high school took a small break from their uniforms and opted for a more comfortable look to start the weekend.

Congratulations to CNP Supervisor Gloria Fuller and the CNP staff at the Whitesburg Elementary/Middle school for receiving a 100 health inspection rating from the Alabama Department of Public Health on March 7, 2024. Awesome Job!!

The Huntsville City Schools Child Nutrition Program staff celebrated National School Breakfast Week 2024. The event took place during the week of March 4th to March 8th.
National School Breakfast Week (NSBW) celebrates the importance of a nutritious school breakfast in fueling students for success. This special observance during the first week of March celebrates the national School Breakfast Program and the many ways it gives kids a great start every day. This years theme was “Surfs Up with School breakfast”.

What’s for today lunch at Huntsville City Schools? Deli Sandwich with whole grain hoagie roll, lettuce, tomato, pickles, American cheese, sliced turkey, condiments, with Sun Chips, whole baby carrots, golden apples, and fat free milk.

What’s for lunch today at Huntsville City Cchools? Baked BBQ or Hot wings, oven French fries, steamed broccoli, whole grain dinner roll, fruit cup, and no fat milk.
