Please stop thinking that it’s okay to allow others to claim your dependents on there tax returns. You can claim all of your dependents as long as they meet requirements per IRS STANDARDS. You may only get EARNED INCOME TAX CREDIT FOR UP TO (3), but you can also receive your CHILD TAX CREDIT FOR ALL OF YOUR CHILDREN.
Qualifying children would have had to live with you for more than 6 months of the year. Other dependents such as niece, nephew etc would have to be there for the full 12 months. Exemptions apply if you have a divorce decree or other paperwork that states other wise.
You are only Head of the household if you have dependents under you.
Earned income tax credit is BASED OFF WHAT YOU EARNED NOT ON A PER CHILD BASES
EX….. if you made $3000, please don’t expect to get back $5000 unless you claiming false information on your return.
Also for the people that prepare returns that don’t have a certification the first stop telling people FALSE INFORMATION….
