Simulation Technologies, Inc., a Huntsville-based small business, was founded in 1983 by a small group of engineers and scientists who were providing cutting edge modeling and simulation services in support of the U.S. The company has since grown to more than 100 employees, including highly skilled scientists and engineers responsible for providing quality and responsive engineering solutions.
Our leadership team attended SimTech’s Leadership Retreat, last Friday. In this retreat, our leaders participated in team building exercises and heard from two guest speakers, Dr. Ana Franco-Watkins, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at The University of Kentucky and Kristin Scroggin, owner of Genwhy Communication Strategies.
Dr. Franco-Watkins and Mrs. Scroggin discussed decision making skills in leadership positions, as well as how to understand and work with professionals of all generations.
We’d like to extend a thank you to Dr. Franco-Watkins and Mrs. Scroggin for speaking at our retreat and equipping our leadership team with valuable knowledge. Thank you as well to The Huntsville Botanical Garden for allowing us to use their venue and to Chef on Call Catering for providing brunch for our team.

SimTech hosted an Estate and Will Planning seminar with Madeline Mullins of Morgan Stanley and Sara Doty Attorney at Law, LLC of Doty Law Firm. The goal for this seminar was to equip our employees with legal advice on preparing their will and trust. Our speaker, Sara was there to assist and advise our attendees as they prepare for long-term financial wellness.
We’d like to thank both Madeline and Sara for spending their lunch hour with us and giving their knowledge to our employees to assist with their financial futures. 💙

Meet Penny! Penny is SimTech’s Technicians Manager. Her team provides technical support to several programs across Redstone Arsenal. She’s alongside many engineers, who work diligently to provide the best products to SimTech’s customer base. In her day-to-day job, she gets to see the first-hand difference that SimTech’s engineering and technician teams make.
Penny enjoys the challenges that her job brings every day, as it encourages her to continue to put her best foot forward. Penny has worked in the electronics industry for 33 years, with 21 of them being at SimTech. She was born and raised in Huntsville and loves spending time with her grandchildren and traveling with her family!

SimTech’s Young Professionals group had a great time assisting Kids to Love at their Curtis Cares Center warehouse in preparation for their “Christmas for the Kids” event. YP organized a large toy delivery and packed Christmas gifts.🎄
We know some special children are going to have a wonderful Christmas this year thanks to the kindness that Kids to Love delivers! SimTech is also hosting our own toy drive, benefitting "Christmas for the Kids".

Meet Sarah! Sarah is SimTech’s Senior Human Resources Specialist.
Sarah is the go-to person when it comes to SimTech’s benefits. She also directs our new hire onboarding.
She values her relationship with every employee that she meets. Sarah loves being able to get to know SimTech’s new hires and watching them grow in their careers within the company. She has been with SimTech for eight years! Sarah says that the work/life balance that SimTech offers to its employees is unmatched. She also believes that SimTech’s work culture is one of a kind! Sarah says that her coworkers play a big role in her success.
Before her career with SimTech, Sarah attended Athens State University, where she pursued her Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management! On the side, Sarah is a professional photographer and she loves capturing special moments for her clients. Sarah also has three kids – one of whom is a new driver…uh oh! 🚗

Last Monday, our very own CEO/President and Northern Alabama Alumni Club President, Dr. Annie Saylor, hosted several Kentucky high school students who have ambitions of pursuing careers in engineering and other STEM fields. Traveling with The University of Kentucky Stanley and Karen Pigman College of Engineering, these students came to Huntsville to learn about STEM applications and were given a tour of NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration.
Dr. Saylor led a discussion with the students regarding a career in engineering and, hopefully someday, with SimTech! Gracie, a SimTech Analyst and Evan, a Dynetics Engineer, both alumni of UK, engaged with students regarding their experiences studying STEM subjects, in starting a career in STEM, and navigating their career. We were honored that Mr. Stanley Pigman, engineering alumnus and generous benefactor, was able to join us and speak about engineering studies.

Meet Brent, a SimTech System Administrator. In his day-to-day role, Brent manages servers and systems as well as updating software and performing scans. He enjoys his current role, as every day is different and brings a new set of challenges, which leaves more room for learning.
Brent graduated from Troy University with a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice and shortly after he began pursuing his IT certifications.
He says that SimTech has made a big impact in the defense industry with the unique technical work being done across multiple platforms. He believes that this is what makes SimTech stand out.

Meet Taylor! Taylor is SimTech’s Contracts Administrator. In his role, Taylor oversees and handles the compliance and administrative side of most of SimTech’s contracts. He enjoys being able to see how our contracts function throughout their life cycles. Taylor believes that being able to learn about the different processes needed to take place over certain points of a contract is a great way to understand more about each contract. 📑
Taylor has been with SimTech for four years! He was actually an intern before beginning his career with the company. He graduated from the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) with a degree in finance. His favorite part about working at SimTech are all of his coworkers.
Some fun facts about Taylor: He played baseball during his time at UAH! Taylor also has a 90-pound Great Pyrenees named Rafe. Taylor, along with both of his parents, were all born in Huntsville Hospital and have lived in Huntsville ever since! 🚀

Meet Joel! Joel is one of SimTech’s Senior Systems Analysts. He wears many hats in his day-to-day job, but his main role consists of coordinating the efforts of SimTech’s 20-person analysis team for a variety of flight and ground testing efforts. Joel enjoys working closely with all of the technology that is offered to him right at his finger tips!
Before his career with SimTech, Joel initially wanted to pursue a career in the education field. He has two degrees from the University of Cincinnati and Southern Oregon University, both in education. He worked in the education field for 13 years, before pursuing his career in the DoD industry! He has spent the last 11 years on Redstone Arsenal.
Joel has been able to work alongside so many intelligent SimTech co-workers, who work in many different technical roles. These roles are extremely important and that is why it’s such an honor for him to be a part of the SimTech team!

Meet Jarrod! He is one of SimTech’s talented accountants! Jarrod specifically works with SimTech’s payroll and is also a tax analyst. He has been with SimTech for four years and will hit his fifth year this April! “My favorite thing about working at SimTech is the opportunity for growth in my career!” Jarrod loves problem solving as well as having a structured work load.

SimTech’s Young Professionals (YP) assisted in the Enable Madison County Vegetable Garden last Saturday, with end-of-season chores and harvesting. YP helped clean up the garden and harvested sweet potatoes!
Enable Madison County is a non-profit organization that provides services to the homebound of all ages. The purpose of the Enable Community Garden is to plant, w**d and harvest vegetables for Enable’s homebound clients, so they can enjoy them at their home.
We’d like to thank Enable Madison County for having our group as well as Shawn, Enable’s Garden Services Coordinator, for trusting us with the upkeep of the garden!

Stephen is a technical writer for SimTech, responsible for maintaining all documentation for the program that he works on. He relies heavily on OPSEC regulations in his day-to-day work. OPSEC stands for Operations Security and it is a program that military members, government employees and contractors use to protect information! Stephen also ensures that all documentation complies with regulations as to style, markings and other requirements, as well as basic grammar and readability. 📝
Before coming to SimTech, Stephen attended The University of Alabama where he received his degree in English. 🐘
Stephen says that he enjoys getting to work with so many talented and dedicated people as they work to ensure the best product for the Warfighter!

Laura is SimTech’s Assistant Facility Security Officer. She has been at SimTech for 3 ½ years. She also serves as our Safety Person of Contact! ⭐
Laura assists SimTech’s Facility Security Officer (FSO) with standard operating procedures to keep the facility going. As Assistant FSO, Laura supports our national defense, federal, civilian, and industrial customers with security training. She actually developed and updated non-existent safety policies and safety training, which have been a huge asset to SimTech! Every year, Laura conducts routine safety inspections to ensure that SimTech continues to be a safe place to work.
Laura describes herself as a huge people pleaser! “I consider Security to be a customer service position. Knowing at the end of the day that I have done something for my fellow employees to make their life just a little easier makes me happy.” She absolutely loves her job and the company that she works for. “I have to say working for SimTech is really a dream. The benefits alone are worth working at Simtech. Management is top notch. I also love the flexibility SimTech has given me.”
Before SimTech, Laura pursued her Associates Degree in Computer Information Systems-Office Systems from Calhoun Community College. She now lives in Limestone County with her husband of 19 years and their two children! Laura is also an auxiliary member of the East Limestone Volunteer Fire Department, supporting fundraisers and administrative tasks. How cool! 🚒

Our team participated in Enable Madison County's 7th Annual Clay Shoot fundraiser. Matt (first overall) led his team to victory, scoring 371 points! SimTech’s team included SimTech Analyst, Phil (far right), John, Matt and Randy (left to right).
Enable Madison County is a non-profit agency located in Huntsville that provides services to individuals age 60 and older and to the homebound. Enable’s mission is to enable the aging and homebound to live at home independently, safely, and with dignity. The annual clay shoot fundraiser benefits Enable’s aging and homebound neighbors by supporting the direct volunteer services Enable Madison County offers to help their clients. 💙💜

Tyler is an engineer at SimTech. His main job duty is to analyze system performances that he works on using MATLAB and other programs. He received his Bachelors of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Auburn University , and then went on to pursue his Masters in Electrical Engineering at The University of Alabama in Huntsville. 🎓
Tyler loves working with many talented and knowledgeable people on his team here at SimTech! “I really enjoy getting to work with people who have tons of experience and knowledge to be able to grow and learn something new every day.” It’s always important to have people to look up to and get inspiration from!
Within the DoD industry, Tyler says that SimTech has established a reliable and competent reputation as a company. “The employees here at SimTech hold themselves to the highest standards, so any product that is received by the customer from SimTech will be top tier.”

Ryan just graduated in May from The University of Alabama in Huntsville with his Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering! As a recent graduate, Ryan is super excited to begin his career with SimTech. He loves the engineering and DoD industry and cannot wait to learn more about them as he starts out!
In his spare time, Ryan does a lot of handy man work such as fencing and woodworking!

Patrick says that his favorite part of working in his role is how different each day is, which makes the job more interesting. He also loves working with his team, built up of so many great personalities!
Patrick’s favorite part about SimTech as a company, along with his coworkers, are the benefits that the SimTech offers to its employees. SimTech provides a wide range of benefits, including insurance, retirement savings and a generous vacation and personal time off schedule, which allows for great flexibility.

Angela is a Principal Analyst. She has been with SimTech for six months. Her main role is to oversee the operation and ex*****on of multiple programs that SimTech supports. What she loves most about the role is how different the day-to-day job can be, and this includes the challenges that come with the role as well! She loves problem solving and being able to work across many different functional areas at SimTech. No challenge is too big for Angela! She graduated from Athens State University with a degree in Acquisition and Contracts Management, which definitely provide her with the educational tools to assist her with her role!
Angela loves the way SimTech treats and appreciates its customers and employees. “I love being a part of a company that is forward looking, committed to growth, and truly committed to the employees!” To SimTech, the people are what truly matter the most – both the customer and the employee.
Outside of work, Angela has two amazing grandkids that she adores! She loves spending time with family and friends, especially if it involves camping or vacationing on a cruise!🧳
