🧘♀️ Physical, mental and spiritual health all in one! Many enter into the practice for physical strength, yet stay for the the continued learning of the Self! I love how every day you can practice, but gain something different! Plus it’s the sister science of Ayurveda - a medical system estimated to be over 5000 years old, focused on treating disease from the root vs just giving a “pill for an ill”. In Celebration of International Yoga Day, go treat yourself to a class and support your body, mind and soul!!! 💕

Meditation can look different for everyone: from taking 3 breaths at a stoplight, going on a silent walk and fully being engaged with nature, to sitting in silence, or listening to a guided meditation!!
However you do it….do it!! There’s no wrong way!! Make it a daily habit like brushing your teeth!! You can’t just brush your teeth for 30 minutes once a week; the benefit comes from small daily doses of cleansing the mouth. Think of you mind this way…it is better to start with 2-3 minutes daily vs 30 minute session once a week!
Connect with your Breath, Connect with your Soul, and Become Present!! It’s a daily gift!!!

Just as the trees change during the year with the seasons, our body’s do the same to adjust to the new elements! Come learn how Ayurveda “the knowledge of life” can prepare you for the upcoming changes. Do you recognize any of these patterns:

In this workshop, we will dive into Ayurveda, the sister science of yoga, to help answer why these common patterns show up! Ayurveda incorporates the use of the 5 Elements (Ether, Air, Fire, Water, and Earth) and the 3 Doshas (Vata, Pitta, and Kapha). They vary differently in each person and you will learn which ones are strong in yourself and how to balance them when out of Harmony!
You will get an Ayurvedic Beginners Kit, enjoy Ojas-building snacks and drinks, and we will end with padabhyanga (self foot massage), an Ayurvedic meditation, and a self-loving Savasana!

Baby ginger: it’s nothing like what you’ve seen in the supermarket. That is matured dried and certainly not fresh.
Fresh ginger Isn’t woody or stringy and it can be used without peeling. Use it in ginger teas to ward off infection and warm the body or add it generously to Asian coking.
Now is the time to stock up on the specialty crop. We start it in February and care for at all spring and summer for this fall harvest.
Come to the Overland Park Farmers Market to stock up to freeze it for winter use. Or consider joining our winter CSA where we should have it available until Thanksgiving.
