Way off my usual post content but very significant in my life….

My husband-the man that has stuck with me through great times and some not so great. He deals with my artistic talents and whims. ( like when I see something and I know I can create it but even better and a craft store home now) It’s his birthday today. After 38 plus years together you really don’t buy gifts . You just say whatcha buying yourself this year? So I always try to cook a dinner that I know he loves and I typically stay clear of because I know it will taste like a shoe if I try cooking it. 🤣 So tonight’s dinner I have thought about for a couple of days. Pinterest researched recipes. Everything from scratch on his birthday too. Pork chops, buttermilk biscuits, fresh green beans and his favorite Dutch apple pie. I shopped yesterday for all ingredients even headed to the “better” grocery store because of the meat counter there. The pie took hours. Caramelized apples, special rub created for the chops, real buttermilk etc…I’m pretty darn tooting sure one of the best birthday dinners to date. Not going to lie, kinda proud of myself 😊

When I opened this order I didn’t spot this beauty had been damaged in shipping until I had put it on my supply rack. (Too late to return) Sooooo I carefully cut the side that was cracked and did some nifty DYI with it. I’ll be nestling something inside it in the future to use in one of my creations 🧐🧐🧐
