Bosma Visionary Opportunities Foundation

Bosma Visionary Opportunities Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit committed to supporting Hoosiers who are blind and visually impaired.

Our Foundation serves as the sole philanthropic fundraising source for the Bosma Center for Visionary Solutions, which provides rehabilitation and training to people who are blind or visually impaired. These programs, which range from intensive Center-based services to in-home assistance for seniors and others, would not be possible without the help of Foundation supporters and donors.

Our client Scott was never much of a chef before losing his vision but after entering Bosma's program, he has made several meals including his fancy deviled eggs. Last Friday, we hosted his family meal, Scott made a chicken and rice casserole, complimented by biscuits and apple butter. He also made a Hershey's pie from scratch for dessert. Way to go, Scott!

“When you see a child journey through their life, having to overcome major adversities, it is heroic,” our client, Shaunell said. Shaunell and her granddaughter share a special bond, beyond what most can understand, they both are impacted by visual impairment. Shaunell lost her vision in 2020 and her granddaughter November, who has been blind since birth inspired her to get back to independence. Last week, our client Carlita prepared a homemade lasagna from scratch for the first time. She has always enjoyed cooking and wanted a challenge for this portion of her rehabilitation programming. Her children joined her at the center for a family meal where they enjoyed salad, garlic bread, lemonade and a chocolate cake for dessert. Great work, Carlita!
