A Message from the Pastor of (Iglesia Vino Nuevo) New Wine Church - Elkhart Indiana

We are overjoyed to announce that the training we received through FHL has brought us together in a deep and meaningful way, preparing us to serve our community with love and compassion.

Thanks to this valuable training, we are now trained and committed to bringing food to those who need it most in our community. This effort is not only a work of social assistance, but a tangible manifestation of God's love. Every action, every plate of food we deliver, carries with it a message of hope, unity and faith.

We know that together, we can make a difference in the lives of many, and it is with this purpose that we will continue to extend our hands and hearts to those who are going through difficult times.

Last week, Central Supply had the honor of serving as the title sponsor for the 5th Annual FHL Charitable Golf Classic to Fight Hunger benefitting Faith Hope and Love Community, Inc. We were joined on the course by our great partners at R.T. Moore.

It was an incredible day at Iglesia internacional la vid in Indianapolis. Today, we focused on giving hope to people. Setting up the priority in establishing a is foundational in helping people .

Later in the afternoon, had a great outreach at Cross Church in the Southside of Indianapolis offering hope to people.

When we truly understand that people hunger for more than just food, everything changes. Our perspectives shift, our food pantries transform and the impact ripples through our neighborhoods. Congratulations to Indy Vineyard Missional Food Pantry for their 7th year Anniversary. They have been a beacon of hope in the neighborhood through their missional approach in alleviating hunger beyond bags of groceries.

They will be serving tonight, 8/20/24 from 6:30 to 8pm.

As we continue this "missional" journey of neighborhood transformation, the need for more resources grow. Just this past Monday (8/12/24), I received a call from a blind gentleman seeking help for himself, his blind niece, and an elderly relative who just moved to Indianapolis from Texas. They are food insecure and none of them can drive. Thanks to the FHL network, we are able to coordinate grocery deliveries to them.

But the reality is that there are more people waiting for assistance, and we need your continued help to reach them. For example, here’s a transcription of a voicemail we received on June 18, 2024: “Hello, my name is Chantel C____. 317-93….. I'm ill and I can't like go down the stairs or go shopping or anything and ____ didn't tell me that they were stopping deliveries cuz I should have had a delivery on Thursday and I called them today and they're just telling me that they no longer with doing deliveries and I wasn't even notified that and they gave me this number to see if I can get help with deliveries for pantry. If you could please give me a call. Again, my name is Chantel C____. My number is 317-938-…. Thank you.”

In Indiana, data from Feeding America shows that 14.6% of older adults (about 1 in 7) and 8% of seniors (about 1 in 12) encounter food insecurity. Many of these individuals live on fixed incomes, which can make it difficult to cover basic expenses including food.
