“Hi! I’m Maddy and I’m an Indiana native. I went to college in England and lived there for about 5 years before heading out to Southern California for some time in the sun. I moved home to Indy almost 3 years ago and started working on the marketing team at Lids 🧢 My favorite things in life are concerts, movies, F1 racing, and my dog Gus 🐕 YogaSix has been a great place for me to meet some of my favorite people and practice self care every week 🧘🏻♀️ I’m excited to share more throughout the month!”

We invite you to this rejuvenating flow, that includes guided breathwork and energetic healing. This practice is designed to release blockages in your body and leave you feeling refreshed and recharged. 🙏🏼
Pranic Healing is a form of touchless energy healing used to clear dirty energy from your body and fill those spaces with fresh clean energy. 🫶🏼
Samie () has been teaching yoga and practicing pranic healing for over a year. Both have dramatically improved her life and well-being. She teaches prenatal and vinyasa yoga at Hancock Wellness Center weekly, and subs at Y6. She truly loves facilitating healing through both yoga and pranic healing. As she continues to share these glories with others, she is studying Mind-Body medicine at Saybrook University. Samie plans to graduate with a master’s degree in philosophy and a certification in integrative wellness coaching. She is passionate about helping others to find the light in their lives and thrive. All are welcome.

For my southside friends: Punjabi Dhaba is literally the best Indian takeout I’ve ever had, Vito Provolones for some home cooked Italian, Red’s Tacos is basically birria heaven

What kind of advice would you give someone looking to try yoga for the first time?
“If you show up and breathe, you are doing yoga!
Yoga is about practice, not perfection, so give yourself grace and know that every day may look a little different. Some days, I do extra chaturanga push ups and others I am lying in child’s pose most of the time. Set intentions!! I feel like intention-setting has helped me connect my yoga practice to my personal life, and I’ve gained so much fulfillment in both! Also, remember your water! ☺️”

“Hi! I’m Clarissa. I’m originally from Southern California. I moved to Indiana almost 7 years ago for medical school and never looked back. I am now an Anesthesia Resident Physician at IU, and I’m planning on practicing in Indianapolis long-term. I recently got married to my husband, Devin, and we live on the south side of town with our four-year-old German Shepherd, Rizzo. YogaSix is one of the reasons that Indianapolis has become my home, and I can’t wait to share more with you all this month!”

Madi just completed her 500th class.
In addition to being an veteran student of the practice of yoga, Madi has her 200 HR YTT Certification and teaches our HOT sequence on Mondays at 4:30pm.
We are so grateful to Madi for bringing her smile, her kindness and her “bangers only” music to her mat.
Madi is also a strong mental health advocate and is someone who can always be counted on for a supportive thought and moment.

What kind of advice would you give someone looking to try yoga for the first time?
“My advice for anyone looking to try yoga for the first time is to simply start. Showing up is the hardest part, but it is so rewarding to be able to invest in and take time for yourself one yoga class at a time.
In my experience, teachers at Y6 create such an accepting, informative, and fun environment to start and grow in your yoga journey. The emphasis on meeting your body where it’s at always serves as a gentle reminder to do what works best for you and not to compare yourself to anyone else in class - especially if it’s one of your first few times!”

Tell us what classes you love at YogaSix and why? Did you always love them, or was there a learning curve and growth of love for you?
“Slow Flow classes at YogaSix are my go-to! When I’m looking for an extra challenge, I’ll turn to Hot classes or when I need a reset, I’ll take a Restore class. I only started my yoga journey last August and I found that Slow Flow was (and continues to be) approachable, yet challenging enough to feel like I am becoming stronger and more confident in class.
Instructors (and friends!) like Sarah Kolzack, Melissa Browning, and Maggie Cavanaugh have continued to help ease the learning curve and keep me coming back with their intentional teaching, curated playlists, and overall experience.”

Autumn represents an opportunity for a fresh start—a time to wipe the slate clean as we let the old fall away and prepare for what’s to come. In this workshop, you’ll be guided through a gentle, restorative yoga flow, followed by a Fall-inspired Yoga Nidra meditation (practiced while lying down in Savasana).
Yoga Nidra is a form of guided meditation for deep rest and aids in physical healing, emotional processing, and mental clarity.
