Colts of the Capitol
Colts news and updates week to week. Current Record: 0-2
So far, this episode is everything we as Colts fan wanted. Jonathan Taylor screen time with the classic Darius Leonard, The Maniac, funny personality.
Jonathan Taylor is having a career year, but we cannot forget to give the O-line some praise. We have seen many different combinations this year and the Colts still produce. Wentz has not missed a game, which is something he loved doing in Philly the past few seasons.
Too excited for tonight's episode of Hard Knocks. Always better to watch the episode knowing it will end with a Colts victory... unlike last week's heartbreaker against the reining Super Bowl Champions.
Initial thoughts from Hard Knocks:
-Jonathan Taylor IS top 5 for offensive players in the NFL
-Wentz and Reich are perfect duo
-Something is in the air with all these "Girl Dad's" on the Colts
Hard Knocks comes on soon @10 PM. Looking forward to some TY Hilton screen time and Jonathan Taylor. Also, hopefully we get to see why Eason was released now.
A win against the Jaguars may seem mediocre but it helps more than you think. Any win in the NFL is huge and the Jaguars were coming in hot. With a win against the Bills the week before, we had to get it done and we did it.
The Colts are looking to get back to .500. A mark they have not seen all season. This is a statement game to show the rest of the NFL that the second half of the season for the Colts will not look the same as it did the first half. Big things coming from this squad, I would hop on the train now.
Facing off against the Jaguars this Sunday just may have became a game. The Jaguars faced off against the highest scoring offense this past Sunday, and held them to 6 points. How well Carson Wentz play against our division little brother? Time will tell.
4-5? With losses to the Rams, Titans (2x), Ravens, and the Seahawks (with Russel Wilson). I would take this Colts team over any team currently sitting at 5-4 or even 6-3. This team has grit and fight for a team with one of the hardest schedules in the NFL.
As a Colts fan and a future Colts analysis, I do love how our team has fought. We have been in games with the Rams, Ravens, and the Titans (2x) but just have not been on the right side of the win column. Yes, loosing sucks but this team shows promise. We thought this year was the year for the Super Bowl, but let's be honest, it's not. The Carson Wentz experiment has been everything we were hoping for, now we just have to learn to win as a team in big games. This season is not lost, we are just creating a name for the new Colts era with Wentz. Everything good takes time.
One of our last chances to prove to the rest of the league that we are not a bad team. Facing off against the Jets on Thursday night football, we have a huge opportunity. Not only are the Jets without their top QB from the draft, but they are also ranked the 31st worst team. Should be a little worried though, the Jets did just take down the #1 seed in the AFC in the Bengals...
Well... the season is on thin ice now. We are one loss away from being eliminated from playoff contention. Gotta say this does not feel right at all.
Carson Wentz has been having an MVP season. All the haters that said he was done, have to live with the fact that he is a top 5 QB in the NFL again. Not only is he balling out, but so are the playmakers around him like Jonathan Taylor and Michael Pittman.
Playoffs? Already? Yes. This week the Colts have their first playoff game of the season. The Titans roll into Indianapolis this Sunday in what is a must win for the Colts. The Titans are coming impressive wins against the Bills and the Chiefs as the Colts have had the Texans and 49ers. Expect the Titans to look a little slow because of the fatigue their players have gone through recently.
What a win. The Colts took care of business this past Sunday night and it was amazing. With the rain falling hard, Carson Wentz wasn't asked to make as many plays with his arms, rather his legs. Wentz added a rushing touchdown and 2 passing touchdowns. It really was a little closer than the score shows, but the Colts finished hard, which is exactly how they are ending the season, fighting.
When the Colts roll into San Francisco Sunday night, the Colts will need to be on their A game. This includes Wentz and the offense but also the defense. After a close shutout against the Texans, the D will look to build off of that.
Facing a team like the Texans, the Colts put it on them, with a final score of 31-3. This is a good win for the Colts as they look to prove to the league that yes, they are a 4 loss team, but those losses have been competitive and to top tier teams in the league. A big test this week comes in the form of another prime time matchup. The Colts travel to San Fran. and look to steal a win against another team looking to finish the season strong.
The game vs the Texans was just as expected, a blowout win for the Colts. Wentz had a day, being ranked the most productive player in the NFL for week 6. Not only did Wentz have a day, but also Isaiah Rogers. Rogers was ranked the second most productive defensive player from week 6.
Colts are currently sitting at 1-4. Yes that is very bad, but one positive is that we will be 2-4 by next Monday. The Colts kickoff against the Texans on Sunday, which will be an easy win for the boys in blue.
The Colts can only look forward. The loss hurts but it is a lesson learned that we need DB's who can play a whole game, and a defense that does not get tired. Both can be fixed, how will we fix it though? Through free agency/trade or the draft?
Nothing hurts more than a loss. Nothing hurts more when you are on the wrong side of a comeback. The Colts were that close to turning their season around. It hurts to say, but the Colts are possibly in the gutter now. How good of a draft pick we can get is what we are fighting for now.
The Colts come into the game against the Ravens with a victory to their name. Yes it was against the Dolphins, but they were a 10 win team last season. Right not, it looks as if our defense is up for the test against a Lamar led team that averages at least 100 yards rushing a game. If the Colts can keep them under that 100 yard rushing mark, I expect the Colts to earn the win, also if the Colts keep them under 100 yards rushing, they will make history by stopping the current record holders of consecutive 100 yard rushing games (43).
Colts vs Ravens in Prime Time? I think this will be the biggest game of our season. Not only because the weight it carries with our record but also because of the history. On a gloomy March night in 1984, The Baltimore Colts called in the movers and hit the road from Maryland. This started the Indianapolis Colts but also birthed the Baltimore Ravens. The Colts and Ravens games have always been more than just a game, its a fight for Irsay's decision to leave.
First win of the season and now we are rolling. A productive day from the offense while also winning on defense. The Colts won 2/3 phases of the game (offense, defense and special teams) and the one we did not win, almost gave the fans a heart attack. Early in the first quarter, the Dolphins punted the ball off to Hines, he ended up muffing it. This is not something to be scared about for future, Hines is very reliable and look for him to fix this in the next game with possibly a return to the crib.
The Colts need this win more than the fans do. If the Colts lose this game, Frank Reich slowly goes into to the hot seat and as does the rest of the team. This team had at least playoff aspirations before the season started and now it looks as if we will be on the outside looking in.
Big game this week against an average team. The Miami Dolphins were close to playoff team last year but they were a 10+ win team. One awkward factor for this game is that Jacoby Brissett will be leading the charge for the Dolphins.
Do the Colts have good losses or are they games we should win? Every team we have lost to has a combined record of 6-3. Yes, we are 0-3, but I do not think we need to fully panic yet. The Seahawks, Rams, and Titans, I believe, are all playoff teams and we have had competitive games with them.
If the offense fails to produce with Jacob Eason on Sunday, I would not be surprised if the new offensive coordinator is in the hot seat. Last season, Phillip Rivers and CO. were able to produce, even with the older arm. The offense needs to show up.
