Refuel after your workout! Don’t just keep it moving.
Too many people use “busy” as an excuse to skip meals.
Are you too busy to breathe in and out? The air you breathe is indicative to life, and so is eating. There is no excuse for not eating, especially when you are active.
You are less likely to make, impulsive decisions when you eat, if you consume good sources of nutrition throughout the day.
Eat to live not survive.
Also, don't limit yourself to foods that you don’t like to eat.
For example, if you don’t like avocados 🥑, although they are a healthy fat, and a good source of vitamins, don’t eat them. You can't force what your tastebuds don't enjoy. That's torture and quick way to lose interest in your nutrition journey.
AND…It is abusive to your body to expect it to do all of the physical, mental, and emotional work without replenishing it with food. That's basically subjecting your body into slavery. Slavery as in, “beat or and deprive it into submission, expecting high results, until it shuts down or dies”.
That's what you are doing to your mind, body, and soul when you withhold meals.
Do better.
After a good morning workout I'll have my oats or a protein and oat waffle immediately following.
New Website dropping soon and designed by me! Safe Space Through Fitness powered by Natural Measures.
…and then there’s always Urban Spinning at Indianapolis Healthplex. Tuesday mornings at 6:30 am, and Thursday evenings at 6:45 pm.
A natural washboard tummy is developed after years of training, typically for those who are already athletic, managed nutrition, and continue fitness training.
For the rest of us coming aboard later in life, and whose tummy is, was, or is on its way to protruding past your bust line (shoes out of sight, and can’t differentiate your waist from your hips)……change your nutritional habits, exercise, and clean your intestines (by nutrition, hydration, and regular body movement).
You may also need to see a doctor, gynecologist, or at worst an endocrinologist. Check your labs.
Lastly, if you have solid belly fat not diagnosed or caused by an illness, having a tummy tuck or any plastic surgery will not change the narrative.
Do the work (nutrition, weight lifting, cardio, rest, etc.), and seek fitness training.
If your body fat turns into excess skin and dead/detached tissue, then surgical removal is a consideration.
2023 lessons to carry into 2024 and beyond. Some of which we will be taught again.
✨You will give more of yourself to those who will only give you what serves them. That’s ok ✅
✨You will encourage, celebrate, and support people who will only support what serves them. That’s ok ✅
✨You will take chances with people who won’t adjust or move out of their comfort zone for you unless it serves them. That’s ok ✅
✨You will let your guard down for people whose short-term intention is to use your vulnerability against you. Tough one. But that’s ok ✅ too.
🔑 There’s one way to learn a lesson. To live through it. You can observe and be strategic. You can build and plan. Yet you will never quite outlearn or pass the test of “peopling”.
People will always teach you lessons, and no matter how hard you try to avoid it, you need people.
🔑 Stay obedient to the objective. Stay the course set before you. You lose nothing. And whatever you could lose, under-weighs what’s ahead of you.
🔑 No one can supersede your value, vision, or voice when you are on the path that God gave you.
✨Be careful of people who say they don’t need people. Everyone needs someone.
✨Be careful of people who say they don’t care for or like people. These individuals struggle internally and will look for and create an opportunity to prove and not like people. You’re next.
✨Be careful of internalizing a false sense of guilt or entitlement projected by other's agendas. You may waste too much of your time explaining or rationalizing with the irrational and irrelevant.
🔑 Set your stage so that when others walk off, your show continues. You will never need to es**rt them off. God will place and remove who He chooses accordingly. He is always looking to see what your response will be in any situation.
🔑 And be ok with watchers and observers. They are watching, not to admire. Most don’t really like you.
They are observing to see your next step. They are watching to see if you will fail. That’s ok ✅
💣 As a matter of fact, anticipators should see you stumble sometimes, so they can also see you bounce back, with grace and integrity.
